Nuclear Bombshell: The Truth that John Kerry Knows

The myth that A Q Khan’s proliferation activities were conducted without the knowledge of the Pakistani army chiefs and prime ministers and further that the US administration was fully satisfied with this explanation stands demolished. Consider the following....

However, it is an open secret that the US was permissive of the Pak nuclear weapons programme: The Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) owned by the Pakistani, Agha Hasan Abedi, was chosen by the CIA to put through the Iran-contra arms deal.

The bank’s collapse in 1991 kicked up a lot of political dust: So much so, the bank’s illegal penetration of the US banking system, through a benami take-over of the First American Bank, became the subject matter of Senate Foreign Relations sub-committee enquiry chaired, most interestingly, by senator John Kerry — the present Democratic contender for the US presidency.

The enquiry report found that BCCI was involved in the sale of nuclear technologies and had indulged in various criminal activities — such as drugs trade, illegal arms deals, prostitution and money laundering

allowed to live, unlike the 1961 assassination of Patrice Lumbumba, the leader of the Republic of Congo, while under CIA control.

So I guess things are getting better!

:-)

I note that the GOP folks that worked the American Bank game just got richer - and never went to jail - - - I think Bert Lance may have had a slap on the wrist SEC note, but then he was the Dem in the group!

2. The flow of information is much harder to shape and
control than it used to be. I think that is the reason
for the change. It was notable in Venezuela in 2002 that
they spent days trying to get Chavez to "resign", as in
Haiti now, where - as you point out - in the old days it would
have been a bullet and an unmarked grave. The whole near
miss with the Iran-Contra debacle may have effected change
too. Also the natives are much more savvy and hard to
manipulate now.

3. Actually, did Abedhi own BCCI??
I thought he was the front man, that he didn't actually own BCCI.

Instead, he got the king of Abu Dhabi (?) to put the money up for BCCI, and other rich Arab dictators followed suit. (I might have the country wrong...)

BCCI consisted of rich guys hiding behind frontmen. The frontmen committed the crimes for the real power behind the bank, aka rich Arab authoritarians.

From the books on the BCCI topic that I've read, Kerry and his investigators (Mr. Blum?) at least tried to shine a little light on these criminals (who include team Reagan/Bush--the people who brought us Iran-Contra and the financing of Saddam Hussein.)
