His wardrobe malfunctions
Is he the president?

Or an AWOL model from a G.I. Joe fashion show?

George W. Bush can't seem to decide.

You'd figure that Bush would think twice before playing "soldier dress-up" for another military media event. Let's face facts here: It really didn't go too well the last time.

1. Is there a penalty for wearing false insignia?
"The jacket had the 101st's screaming-eagle insignia emblazoned on the left sleeve. Out front was a snappy set of flight wings and the embroidered words, "George W. Bush, Commander in Chief.""

If Jr was grounded from military flying in the 70's how can he wear flight wings?

2. Tom Cruise or Gomer Pyle?
No question in my mind. But can he sing too?

Love the article.

3. Dubya's no Gomer Pyle.
They may be thinking Tom Cruise.
They'd better not deliver Gomer Pyle

Dubya's no Gomer Pile. Gomer Pile might have been a bit "slow" (like Dubya), but the fundamental difference is that Gomer had a conscience and was as honest and forthright as the day is long, qualities noticeably lacking in Dubya.

4. No military parallels....
But I think of Bush as Beaver Cleaver and Rumsfeld as Eddie Haskell (from "Leave It to Beaver"). This makes Blair a bit of a Lumpy Rutherford and Colin Powell the loyalty-conflicted Wally; Cheney makes guest appearances as Gilbert. Laura Bush, of course, is June. Sadly, Ward Cleaver died in a drunk-driving incident; Lumpy's dad was at the wheel.

Hey, there are stranger parallels in the universe.
