Can You be Proud?
This tear on my birthday, I received the best gift I could ever hope for! My birthday was January 20th, the day President Obama was inaugurated, and officially became President of the United States of America. Prior to that day, I was ashamed to tell people that I was an American, I travel a lot, and I knew people knew that I was not my government, and they did not hold my government's actions against me, but I still carried the stigma. Now, I can hold my head high, and I can proudly say, I am an American Citizen, and I have no reason now to hide it! I want to know how others feel. Tell me.

1. I can be less ashamed, and hope for "proud" someday.
I was proud before Vietnam, and for a little while when Jimmy was President. Since then it's been all downhill. It is nice that we don't have to pretend to be Canadian or something now.
