Don't be surprised if this is the new meme.

Obama Preens While The World Laughs

Editor, Times-Dispatch:
The public infatuation with President Barack Obama, particularly that of the media, would be funny if its consequences weren't so frightening. Daily we hear how wonderful he is -- even when he has done nothing that day.

While purportedly strengthening our position overseas, he tears down what this country stands for, apologizing for the good we have done as though it were bad, and not accepting any responsibility. Back home, it is said he is so strong and magnanimous -- never has an American leader stood so tall.

Folks, I hate to break it you, but they are laughing at us over there. He grovels and they offer nothing in return (no additional help in Afghanistan) and the press says, "What strength!" Dictators are tripping over themselves to be next in line to take advantage of us -- and he pontificates about things he is bringing to the world. Tinhorn dictators and thugs insult us and his response is, "Thanks for the book," or "I'm glad you didn't blame me. I was a baby when that happened." Doesn't he realize that as our elected leader, when they insult us, they are also insulting him?

Now, he has snubbed our closest and most important ally in the volatile Middle East by refusing to meet with Israel's new prime minister, while seeking meetings with Israel's worst enemies. He is now forcing Israel to act on its own to stop Iran's nuclear aspiration aimed directly at Israel's destruction.

This is not funny. Obama is opening the door to a huge destructive war. Obama preens, the media fawn, and the world laughs.

Hatred of Bush Fuels Washington

Editor, Times-Dispatch:
America was once looked upon by most countries as the strongest nation in the world. President Ronald Reagan was right when he said, "There is security in strength."

The Obama administration seems to be relentless in tearing down this vision. Examples of this are the tentative closing down of Guantanamo prison, the congressional examination of torture techniques to get vital intelligence information, and the open border policy -- all of which have our enemies laughing at us. Even our closest allies see us as becoming weak in foreign policy matters.

If Guantanamo is shut down, where are all of these dangerous war criminals going to go? Some may even be released to do harm again. American intelligence agencies will have their hands tied if they are restricted in ways to get vital terrorist information.

In lieu of all of the above, I have come to the conclusion that the current far left administration is more than willing to sacrifice the safety and security of this country because of its undying hatred of former President George W. Bush and his administration. If this is true, we have only ourselves to blame for voting for those representatives and senators who are out of touch with America. The only way to fix this is for all Americans to wise up and start taking America back at election time. Our future sovereignty and security depend on us.

1. All of a sudden Republicans care about what the world thinks of us?
IIRC when * was president they could have cared less about what the world thought of us....especially if countries disagreed with us....

Wow, what a complete turn of events! I am completely shocked, I tell you. :eyes:

9. Very good point.
It seems to me that their previous attitude seemed to be that it was somehow un-American to care what the rest of the world thought of us. Now suddenly they're oh so concerned about our international image. :eyes:

In any case, it's a ridiculous claim to say that they are laughing at us.

27. My thoughts exactly.
They know everyone is laughing at them. Or crying.

It is their most fervent wish that some of that would rub off on the President, the sick jerks. It's not bad enough they drug us down the roads they did, now they want to paint everyone in THEIR color. Blood Red.

16. It only shows how fucking wacko RIGHT this country was under the WAR CRIMINAL regime...
things were so far skewed to the WACKO RADICAL RIGHT WING FRINGE that they were pushing as "main stream", that every one else is considered "left wing" - because THERE IS NO ONE REMAINING TO THE RIGHT OF THESE DANGEROUS IDIOTS....!!!

5. It seems pretty common.

I'm guessing that this is a planned talking point. Those two letters may be astroturf, or they may simply be real letters parroting what they've heard on their favorite hate radio program, which amounts to the same thing.

10. Did you notice the idiotic oped at the top of that page?
Local Glacier Melted Before Global Warming

Editor, Times-Dispatch:
My yard in northern Chesterfield is a gravel mine. Wherever I dig, I find all sizes of gravel, little and big, differently shaped, but all rounded and smooth. The obvious source? A moraine from a grinding Ice Age glacier that ended in this area and gradually retreated north over eons, leaving carved valleys, bays, fractured exposed layers (Buckingham slate), pressure formed crystals (Amelia fairy stones), and my yard full of rocks. But guess what? Homo sapiens probably didn't exist here then to foul up the whole cyclical process of natural global warming.

13. We have documentary proof of the "grinding Ice Age glacier" he is referrig to
It is slow to load and filmed with a handheld
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNQTf3dmvaI

it is also in a foreign language (?) but the final line is the Father saying to the young boy "Son this was created by a higher power" or something to that effect.

The writer capitalized Ice Age so I am wondering if this was his attempt at an inside joke

15. I have no doubt that he's correct about the glacier,
but he seems to be trying to use it to disprove anthropomorphic global warming. His argument makes no sense. The fact that glaciers have come and gone in the path has nothing to do with the current situation.

That's artificial grassroots. They were caught once sending the same exact letter to many newspapers, so they must have wised up and paid some out-of-work writers to come up with variations on the chosen theme.

so much as a bunch of crazies who probably listen to him

The first letter is how the Glaciers were melting before global warming and global warming is being used to close down a local coal plant.

I think it's just a place where crazy people go to spew bizarre ideas
