From MWU:Not a single Muslim has condemned the murder of Nick Berg. Why?
The article from Muslim Wake Up! refutes this claim quite effectively, including links to many sources. The entire article can be found at:

www.muslimwakeup.com/archives/000812.php

Excerpts:

Not a single Muslim has condemned the murder of Nick Berg. Why?
Americans are asking this very important and predictable question. OK, so not all Americans--just the ones baying for a race war, or for a clash of civilizations in the more elite circles.

Yesterday Al-Jazeera ran a story about the mixed reactions of ordinary Arabs to the murder of Nicholas Berg. Many condemned it. Some blamed Al-Qaeda, while others put the blame on the brutality of the US occupation. Before that they ran a story about condemnations from Arab governments. I can not find a link to that story anymore, but I have not looked very hard. The Guardian has been reporting condemnations from the Arab media and opinion makers.

Please check out the entire article, because you can get some great links that will refute the claim that Muslims don't care about American deaths.

2. EVEN HAMAS AND HIZBULLAH CONDEMNED THIS MURDER!
Edited on Sun May-16-04 04:58 PM by mzmolly
"Hizbullah condemns this grisly act which has caused great harm to Islam and to Muslims by this group which falsely claims to belong to the religion of mercy, compassion and genuine human values," the statement said.

"By its suspicious actions and links, this group belongs to the Pentagon school - the school of killings, occupation, crime, torture and immoral practices as exposed by the big scandal in the occupation prisons."

Osama Hamdan, Hamas' representative in Lebanon, denounced both Berg's killers and President Bush.

"I condemn this brutal act and sympathize with the family of the slain American person, who I consider a victim of the wrong U.S. policies in the region Hamdan told The Associated Press. "U.S. President George Bush and (Berg's) killers are equally responsible."

Both Hizbullah and Hamas said the beheading damaged Arab causes, and predicted the United States would use it to turn attention away from the prisoner abuse scandal."

3. Absolutely!
I am continually asked why Muslims haven't apologized, and so I appreciated finding this article. There are many great links to sites that list Muslims and Muslim organizations and their statements. There's also a link to a freeper page where the wingnuts say, basically, that the Muslims might have said it, but they didn't mean it. With some people, you'll never win. But I hope the links can be useful when you talk with others.

4. Why do Muslim have to appologize?

Christians didn't appologize for the torture.

5. Because the evil behind all religion
has made Christians think they are doing good. when they commit such acts.

6. I agree, whoever is in charge in Iraq should issue formal apology..
oh, wait, that's us...

Seriously, let's do a reality check on republican logic, spin-free: unpaid mob in fallujah did a bad thing, let's bomb that city to pieces. tax-payer financed, uniform-wearing us soldiers did a bad thing, it's just isolated, pay no attention.
