Charge Bush, not just low-rank soldiers: letter Minneapolis Star Tribune
http://www.startribune.com/stories/563/4786784.html

Minneapolis Star Tribune May 21, 2004

Charge them all

I'm outraged that a 24-year-old military policeman is the first U.S. serviceman sentenced for the abuse of Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison. Not that Spc. Jeremy Sivits shouldn't have been brought to court, but standing beside him should have been those men responsible for his conduct. Those men include George W. Bush, the president who could not wait to drop the bombs on Baghdad, as well as Vice President Richard Cheney and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld -- who conjured the cruel preemptive strategy of "shock and awe."

It is pitiful that these men -- who put us where we are, who knew about the abuse of Iraqi prisoners months ago -- should use lowly service personnel to get themselves off the hook for this horrendous abuse of power.

Rosalie Wahl, Lake Elmo.

4. pity for the offspring
if you want to be outraged, be outraged that lynddie england is capable and allowed to breed. won't her offspring have a wonderful role model to emulate. large prints of mommy on the walls, laughing at brown skinned genitals with leash in hand and marlborough in mouth. isn't that kid lucky.
