The Bush Doctrine of Re-definition
-snip-

Never in our country’s history has there been a President who has had so many excuses for the same problem. If there is one constant within this administration, it is the inconsistency on any given subject. From his “foreign handed foreign policy” to “No Childs Behind Left” we have seen the contradiction to intelligent thought brought by this C average student.

On 9/11 most of the world became as one against terrorism. Nations offered troops, money, materiel, and intelligence to bring down Al Qaeda and the Taliban. But then the chickenhawks turned their eyes to Iraq and all of the goodwill towards the United States was wasted.

During the run up to war with Iraq the Bushies attempted to implicate Saddam Hussein with September 11th but when that was proven false, Iraq then became the biggest threat to America because of weapons of mass destruction. When no weapons were found they tried to spin it as weapons programs, when that failed it became the liberation of the Iraqi people from a brutal dictator who used torture chambers and rape rooms. Now that the abuses at Abu Ghraib prison have come to light, what will the re-defined excuse be?

1. We don't need a redefinition..

...And if we did, we'd be screwed, because this 'freeing the Iraqi people' thing was our trump card.

But they don't think we need a redefinition, because they don't see the prison abuse as being anywhere near as bad as what we're 'rescuing' the Iraqis from. Or at least--they want to pretend it's not anywhere near as bad.

As Jon Stewart said, in reference to Sen. Inhofe's outrage-at-the-outrage comment, "America! We're better than Saddam Hussein. Hell of a moral argument there."
