Chuck Schumer Unloads on Obama
Senator Chuck Schumer may have just lost any shot at succeeding Harry Reid as Senate Majority Leader if the Nevada Senator stumbles in the upcoming tough 2010 challenge he is facing.

Politico's Ben Smith shares word of a very harsh critique that Schumer publicly shared with a conservative Jewish show today of Obama's Middle East policy.

Schumer's screed gets to the edge of sounding as if he is more a Senator working in the Knesset than working in the United States Senate.

This is the 2nd time I know of that Schumer has publicly crossed the line when it came to zealously blaming his own government and colleagues in delicate matters of US-Israel-Palestine policy.

During the third of three major efforts of the George W. Bush administration to get the recess appointed US Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton confirmed in the US Senate, Senator Schumer launched a passionate personal campaign to help Bolton succeed.

Schumer called many Democratic Senate colleagues and bluntly said, "A vote against John Bolton is a vote against Israel."

1. Schumer Has Supported Many Bad Choices
Chertoff, Mukasey, Bolton. He needs to be reminded he is a US senator.

2. Not to mention how he planted stories in the press against Kerry for filibustering Alito.

Schumer has done PLENTY to undermine other Democrats and take any credit for himself - like on healthcare - he was all talk on the blogs and behind closed doors he was siding with greater compromise and protection for insurance companies.

He's one of the biggest snakes in DC.

3. Not to mention his continued anti-gun agenda
He flat out lied to congress with his spin on "assault weapons".

4. Schumer is a pure politician.
He simply conforms to his audience. Luckily in NY we have a mostly liberal demographic. If he was a Senator from Arkansas, I am positive he would be a conservaDem.

And told them that I and others in my upper west side neighborhood are not happy with him. Also didn't like his shoving Gillibrand on us.

I've had no use for him since that.

10. i agree on Gillibrand.
sure she looks good next to Harold Ford, but who doesn't. I also think she is only voting the correct way now because she is under the spotlight and heading into an election (same situation as Arlen Specter). Like we are supposed to believe they are liberals all of a sudden.

9. While I wouldn't consider myself a rider on the "Schumer
for Majority Leader" train, can Sen. Dick Durbin raise a strong enough profile to be the Democratic Majority Leader if Sen. Reid doesn't win re-election?

19. Chuckie Shumer is one of the biggest disappointments this time around.
What is it with the Dems once they reach office?

They ARE "just like the repukes"!

It's all a game to them...

21. Schumer needs to keep his mug and his mouth out of the news.
Why is he bring this up now anyway? Why doesn't he address his concerns to our Secretary of State-a former colleague from NY?
