I Hate Republicans Reader

This isn't exactly a "new" book, but it was new to me when it arrived yesterday. It's a very good compendium of some of the best indictments of the Republican Party from the past 4-5 years. James Carville is there, as is Al Franken and the curiously-silent (recently anyway) Paul Slansky. And Hunter S. Thompson's observations upon the death of Richard Nixon are priceless.

"He was a swine of a man and a jabbering dupe of a president. Nixon was so crooked that he needed servants to help him screw his pants on every morning. Even his funeral was illegal. He was queer in the deepest way. His body should have been burned in a trash bin."

You can get a good used copy (what I bought) from Amazon.com for less than $4.00 -- buy it for yourself or for the liberal that you love!

2. That's where mine is!

When I was in graduate school (English) I was reading constantly -- constantly, if you know what I mean. One day a friend was over and used the bathroom and she called out to me, "Oh for Christs' sake, this is too much -- nobody can read Faulkner in the john!!"
