Texas to vote on curriculum that changes history

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/texas-to-vote-on-curriculum-that-changes-history-1978799.html

The slave trade was in fact the "Atlantic triangular trade". Capitalism, with all its negative connotations, should in future be referred to as the "free enterprise system". And don't even think about buying into the theory of evolution: children must instead be taught that God created Earth using a euphemistically-titled technique known as "intelligent design".

It may sound like the backdrop to a comedy sketch, but these are instead the guiding principles by which teachers in America's second-largest state will be forced to go about the business of education, according to critics of proposed changes to the school curriculum.

1. I'm a teacher in California. If I were handed these books to use, I'd refuse.
There is no way I could participate in this tragedy.

2. And that is how justice can survive, by people thinking and feeling
about what is right, that is how the imbalance of someone making a decision with something without moral component can be defeated.

By not giving it power over your choices.

And also let others know what is going on, so others can stand for what they feel and believe, not just what they are told to do.

3. What needs to be done now...
There are two big buyers of text books. Texas and California. Under the current climate, Texas is a lost cause but any sign of weakness to this effect in California needs to be stamped out IMMEDIATELY. If they were to follow in any sense, the only textbooks we'd see in classrooms anywhere in the nation will be conservative-biased renditions.
