Our view: Capitol has become Fort Huebsch

Walk along Madison’s Capitol Square and enter Wisconsin’s Capitol on a summer Saturday afternoon, and you’ll see something that might surprise you.

You’ll likely see a bride and a groom and a wedding party and a photographer. In fact, don’t be surprised to see two or three wedding parties getting photos taken inside the people’s Capitol.

Sadly, after months of protests, it’s not so easy to enter the people’s building these days. In fact, a school group from Eau Claire, Wis., decided to change a day-in-the-capitol field trip from Madison to St. Paul to avoid the hassle.

Last week, the Madison Fire Department issued fire code violations at the Capitol. Many of the exit doors are locked, and the fire department also cited inadequate signage pointing people to the exits that still are functional..........................

...If it's OK to conceal carry firearms into the Capitol, then why does one have to pass through a metal detector to get in?
