The President, again, passed up an opportunity for real communication in his recent Tweet-conference
Mr. President;

Again, you neglected an opportunity for some real communication with the people. during your recent Tweet-conference with the public you recieved a typically political remark from John Boehner:

"After embarking on a record spending binge that's left us deeper in debt, where are the jobs?"

You went so far as to call Bohner's ejaculation a "little slanted". Wow, you are really are beating up on the guy. Here is a suggestion as to what you might have said (something like this):

"Now, this is a real teachable moment here...

.... Notice representative Boehner's wording. He said spending "binge"... As if all the spending that we have done to try to rebuild the economy from the Republican Trickle Down Disaster was optional and unnecessary. Let's get this straight, we HAD no option. Stimulus Spending which included, by the way, extending unemployment benefits to those millions put out of work by Republican Trickle Down Disaster (created by Tax cuts - benefitting mostly the wealthiest in our country, and Deregulation of Wall Street - this is how the Republicans created the greatest economic catastrophe this country has seen since the(first) Great Depression) - were ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to keep this REPUBLICAN DYSTOPIA from going vertically into a Second Great Depression.

As it is, we, Myself along with the Democrats in Congress, saved America from total economic collapse. Let's of course note that the TARP was started by President Bush and that too was not a matter of an optional action it was an action that HAD TO BE TAKEN.

Now, notice Boehner asks "where are the jobs." This is good political double-speak. Mr. Boehner knows exactly where the jobs went.... The Republicans have opposed every stimulus bill we have proposed. When we proposed the First Stimulus bill, Mr. Boehner and the rest of the Republicans in Congress demanded as the price for NOT FILIBUSTERING the essential stimulus bill - that we convert ONE THIRD of the stimulus to tax cuts. Now, as anybody knows, tax cuts at a time when people are afraid of losing their jobs will NOT lead to the stimulus the economy needed. People not sure whether they will have a job in six months are not going to spend much (or any) of any additional take-home pay they get. They will save it or pay down their debts. Very sensible things to do, but this does not produce stimulus for the economy. The Republicans knew this and they demanded one third of the stimulus be turned into tax cuts to limit the impact of the stimulus bill.

And they have filibustered and fought every stimulus bill we have brought before Congress. Their intent is to prevent any recovery from their TRICKLE DOWN DISASTER from occuring so they can campaign saying the I and the Democrats are at fault for this REPUBLICAN DYSTOPIA which we are suffering through now. They have managed to downsize and limit the effectiveness of various stimulus bills by delaying and downsizing them by threatening filibusters and filibustering by amendments.

They are using the same tactic that Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge used in Cambodia. The Khmer Rouge burned crops in the rice paddies to produce famine to add to the mayhem they were causing - to facilitate their over-throw of the government in Cambodia. Now, the 'Red State Brigade' is using the same tactic here. They are wreaking havoc on American's livelihoods with the intent to help them in their campaign against me and the Democrats in the next election. They are hoping they can make people forget who and how the greatest economic catastrophe this country has seen since the (first) Great Depression was caused. It was caused by the same policies of tax cuts for the wealthy and deregulation of business activity....downsizing regulatory agencies is the same thing as deregulation... that they are chanting about now.

This is what Mr. Boehner and the Red State Brigade consider responsible public service. I guess if you are a millionaire or citizen-corporation (ala Justice Roberts) you would be very amenable to that kind of politics. It's what the Republicans promised they would do when they said they would prosecute a "Scorched Earth" policy against me and the Democrats in Congress. Well, they were good for their word. You can certainly count on Republicans to engage in irresponsible, rapacious politics. They seem to have a real facility for it.

Next question!"

1. Bravo! I hope this goes viral.
Why don't you try to spread the link to this among the Twitter Town Hall crowd, maybe via a tweet?

Think ripple, current - great RFK quote I found here:

http://allergykids.wordpress.com/2009/11/02/a-ripple-of-hope-when-courage-and-conscience-collide/

With the words of another crusader in hand, I found my voice: “Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls”.

to be honest, I don't know how to do what you are suggesting. Can you explain how I would do that? do you mean I can put a link to the OP?

on edit: Okay, I put a comment out there with link to OP, but I don't have very many followers (really very few) so don't know if it will get much attention.

2. I have a much shorter retort:
Mr. Boehner: "Mr. President, where are the jobs?"
President Obama: "John, I have been asking you that since January....weren't you guys elected by promising jobs bills? I have not vetoed ANY; so John, the question you ask is best posed to your mirror each morning - where are the jobs indeed."

3. This would require a spine, and recognition that the GOP are his mortal enemy
He still seems to think they're honestly trying to help him save the country. He's a fool.

7. I have expressed this sentiment to my Senators and Reps and to DNCC
Don't know what to do. He has disaffected about half the Democatic party. OF course, by now, the damage done makes one wonder if much CAN be done to rectify situation. Think we need a Democrat to run in 2012 (B.O. ain't it). Still, I have to fight the Repubs even as Obama keeps trying to ingratiate himself with these degenerates.
