Why aren't the Republicans going crazy over the cost of these endless wars?
I think we’re reaching a semantic game with respect to the US military presence in Iraq. The political community just won’t ask for an extension of military troops. But the leadership appears to be falling back to allowing trainers to work with Iraqi security forces. That’s what Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari seemed to be saying today.

Zebari and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki appear to be preparing the public for some type of American military presence in Iraq past 2011, but have been trying to paint it as a training force as opposed to combat units.

“Is there a security need for Iraq for trainers, for experts? The answer is yes,” Zebari told reporters in Baghdad. “I believe that things are heading to an agreement on having trainers and experts not military forces with combat troops.”

Zebari provided no details, saying no agreement has been reached and Iraq has not asked for any American forces to stay. In a follow-up interview with The Associated Press, he said the trainers would be active-duty military personnel, as opposed to private contractors, but would not specify how many.http://news.firedoglake.com/2011/07/27/iraqi-foreign-minister-hints-at-continued-us-presence/

You dont question the need for more weapons, or more war.

Its "unpatriotic" in their minds.

I don't understand them. They love to kill people, but won't allow abortions as a choice.

13. The reason there are no anti-war marches
is because, there is no draft, except the economic draft for the poor & middle class caught up in these endless wars.

6. Because Republicans Love War
(unless it is started by a Democrat)
I remember when Clinton was in office and used the military, the Republicans went mad. Clinton had barely left the WH when Bush & Co started planing a war with Iraq, before 9/11/2001. A war which reason was changed at least 3 times, because each reason was proven to be wrong or an out right lie.

7. Republican ideology holds that natonal defense is the only purpose of the federal government...
So spending on wars is OK, as long as they can put the "national defense" bandaid over the war.

8. Your right.... It's all about "national Defense" . How is it that
having a healthy, educated population comes off as being anything less?

16. Conservative Ideology 101 - Individual responsibility. Health and educaiton are an indivudual's
responsibility.

An individual that can not make enough money to meet that responsibiliy is inherantly flawed, lazy, and good only for Soylent Green.

12. They'd go broke if we stopped the wars.
They make too much money off of them, and they're not alone. Even some of the Dems profit from wars.
