GREG DOBBS: Bush needs to come clean with America
Thanks (again) to Mahablog for the link to this excellent piece:

Snip:

Has the president even once come clean and said, "Our war plan was good, but our post-war expectations stank?"

No, he just slips into a flight suit and tells us the worst is behind us. Come clean, Mr. President, we're in a mess and don't know how to get out. You know it, we know it, our troops know it better than anybody. Pretending otherwise only hurts the families of American soldiers who are stuck in that god-awful part of the world.

That brings me, finally, to the president's re-election campaign. For all the days and nights he spends raising record amounts of money, why doesn't he pay a visit - even just one - to the family of an American who lost his life obeying his Commander In Chief? Could it be that Mr. Bush is afraid he'll be asked why he injudiciously taunted Iraq's insurgents with "Bring 'em on?" They came on, all right. Could it be that it would be hard to come clean with those who mourn, hard to convince them that the threat for which their loved ones died looks contrived? Or might campaign cash just be more important?

Maybe I'm being too harsh on the president. To be sure, there is another plausible explanation for these failures to triumph over everything from death to terrorism to the economy. Maybe the president just doesn't know how.

2. Everytime I hear b....
speak I feel that I need to be sanitized. b... is so flithy he could never come clean with anything. He just needs to be removed from office so we will never have to hear from this creep again.

3. "Tweety bird" Chris Matthews seems to be
jumping on the "Iraq is a quagmire" bandwagon. Heard him this morning ranting about Richard Perle and the neocons and their policy being the problem. Ya think, Chris? Still think * strutting across the carrier deck in his flight suit was a great PR coup, Chris?
