Time to retire the Top 10 Conservative Idiots

When you pitch a perfect game, when you write a sonnet in which every syllable scans in iambic pentameter, when you sing a pop song that's 3 minutes long and reaches #1 and nobody can get out of their head, when you scuplt a statue that makes every person walking by stop and contemplate, WHEN YOU NAIL IT SO PERFECTLY YOU CAN'T EVER HOPE TO TOP YOURSELF, it's time to retire, isn't it?

... they had a lot of help. The Idiots were uncommonly idiotic this week.

It was a full, rich and varied idiocy, with a fine bouquet, yet with subtle hint of a complementary nuttiness.

And most importantly, the bottling of such fruit is as critical as the culturing. Yes, today's Top 10 will, I predict, age into one of the great all time vintages!

They will get dumber and dumber and dumber. I will get more outraged and outraged and outraged. It will probably never end:evilfrown:

as soon as there are no more conservative idiots!

.... all those future idiots will seem like such a pale, bedraggled lot, empty of freshness and spark, compared to today's blazing idiots.

At least, I hope so! If I thought the Idiots could improve on this performance, I'd never sleep again for fear of nightmare!

They're all ripe, with some laying bruised on the ground, infested with parasites. Such a condition of decomposition makes for easy "list" pickings, wouldn't you agree?

Rather than stop the list, why not expand it to twenty a week?

I SO look forward to the Top 10 Conservative Idiots list every week. PLEASE don't even SUGGEST ending it. Besides, it (unfortunately) will be a LONG time before the conservative idiocy ends, if it EVER does. It's something that those of us who are SANE have to be CONSTANTLY on the vigil for.

When I wandered onto DU a little over a year ago, the first thing that caught my eye was the humorous title 'Top Ten Conservative Idiots', and so I clicked on it and read the page. It had me laughing and feeling great! Often liberal political discussion can dry and technical or even angry and bitter, and it was so refreshing to hear a humorous and even triumphant tone in lefty political writing. It was this playfulness and confidence and irony that made me bookmark the page and keep coming back to DU for more commentary and insight.

So although I don't read it too much lately (I just go straight for the bulletin boards to read and maybe post) I think the 'Top 10' is a great part of DU, and a very positive introduction for newcomers to read. This is the kind of invigorating, uplifting, positive and light-hearted spirit that can really inspire and motivate people. So I hope it stays around for a long time!

I think I was searching for "conservative idiots" or something on Google, and that's how I found DU.
