3. If yesterday's news...
... and the Saturday update on the site mentioned is so, then he's not leaving for a while. It's typical for these people to run away after making a mess, but he's not going soon.

As bad as Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld and their neo-con group are, the chances of someone worse taking their place is good, given Bush's picks thus far. If Bush thought a con man and street hustler like Bernie Kerik would be great for Homeland Security, I shudder to think who he might come up with for Sec. & Dep. Sec. of Defense.

11. that's what I think as soon as I hear someone leaving. Powell
was better at State than Condi will ever be, just for starters.

12. Maybe he'll shove McCain in the job
It will all depend on whether or not they leave, heads hung in shame over their poor performance, or they are fired.

13. I don't think shame...
... is in their vocabulary. In their minds, they've done a great job, and perhaps in the mind of their boss, too. *sigh*

4. Wolfowitz leaving? Ok by me.
I'll even pitch in for his bus ticket.

Since I became aware of who he was and what his role was in the Pentagon, what I wanted from this guy was some basic honesty.

I didn't want someone with such a naturally listenable voice to use that voice for deceitful means.

But he did.

5. Great, but...
They should be leaving for a war crimes tribunal wearing orange jumpsuits with bags over their heads.

9. If "Wolfie" does leave it will not be as part
of some purge of the neocons... It will be just be neocon internal politics.

Bolton's leaving is also a big nothing. With the neocons soon to control State from the top on down, this particular neocon agent is no longer needed to keep an eye on that department.

The paleocons are spinning like mad to make it seem like they still have some power... and relevance. But it is easy to make a big deal out of various comings and goings when you pretend that the neocons are some tiny subset of the actual actors.

10. I'll believe it when I see it. What other country needs a greasy, sneaky,
ugly, comb-licking, warmongering, snake oil salesman of death?

Right now he's probably working for the only people that will have him.

NOtice how all these a-holes who started the war are disappearing one by one. They're all "jumping ship." Who will clean up this mess?
