Stench of Iraq Failure Would Have Been Blamed on a Dem....
Edited on Mon Jan-10-05 08:51 PM by Shalom
It seems that the reality-denial by Rove/Bush (Goebbels/Hiter)regarding the genocidal US occupation of Iraq is reaching the critical stage: it is clear that many Iraqis want the US to GET THE FUCK OUT of their country, and the momentum is with the insurgents, as described in the editorial excerpted below:

"The Scent of Fear" by Bob Herbert, NYT 1.10.05

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/01/10/opinion/10herbert.html?oref=login&oref=login

"Mr. Bush's so-called pre-emptive war, which has already cost so many lives, is being enveloped by the foul and unmistakable odor of failure."

Concurrent with this, mainline Repigs in the Congress are actually floating trial balloons about an exit strategy, looking for a cover story to allow an Iranian style theocracy to take over Iraq. The military defeat of the occupation army is being accelerated by the fact that the insurgents have figured out how to devise much more powerful improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which are now blowing up Bradley vehicles and their occupants.

What this portends seems clear: had Kerry, or Howard Dean, been elected President, they would have been stuck with either "toughing it out", or withdrawing, and being accused of abandoning the noble cause for which so many Americans had already given the ultimate sacrifice.

In the end, the theft of the 2004 election could help both the US and the world: it could actually accelerate the US withdrawal from the shameful and criminal killing of Iraqi civilians, and totally discredit the AWOL cowardly cokehead, George Walker Bushitler and his Gestapo Repig party, not only for the 2008 election, but for the history books.

And that 'aint all bad.

2. I've been looking for silver linings
and I do think this is one of them. But to me it's overshadowed by the supreme court nominations.

Tough call either way.

3. You're right in one respect - our failure in Iraq is all on Bush
It was his war, all his. Spinmaster Rove has two options: a) try to blame it on Dems (unlikely) or b) try to paint it a success (also unlikely). The bad part is that it very well may result in a civil war, which is not going to be good for anybody.

6. It is already a civil war. And we did not belong there to begin with.
It never was anybody`s country but theirs to start with. Bu$h Inc. just wanted the oil. And set Saddam up like a bowling pin. As a lame excuse to murder 100,000 people and counting for liberations sake. And our troops are just cannon fodder. We need to get out now and leave Bu$h Inc.`s oil profits to the winners of the Iraq civil war that we started.

8. Like Your Style, Wildman....
Kerry defeated Bush in 3 debates, tearing him apart logically.

Al Gore just tore Bush apart. He was so strong and so good that he ended up suffering for it. But it was what our POS POTUS had coming.

9. The problem with us liberals is that the rightwing motherfuckers
that highjacked our country have not killed us all yet. But it took Hitler about 7 or 8 good years to get his murderous ball rolling. Bu$h Inc. is ahead of that pace I would say. After Bu$h Inc. performs their next 9-11 attack. The hit squads will be here. And liberals will be the target. You can bank on it.
