Scarboro was incredible tonight!
They had some guy from the Nation magazine on who destoryed Scarboro and another guest.

The were going on harping about some cherry picked nits about the liberal media and he said "you're a bunch of whiners. I got news for you, real america is not talking about the liberal media anymore. There's a different buzz going on."

Then they throw up some polls to show that the war is popular etc.
He again wallops them with "You guys can sit around and talk about numbers all you want but it's not about polls." It was like he was saying - you guys can sit here and lie all you want bt america know what's really going on.

Scarboro and right wing guest had NOTHING! They didn't have a leg to stand on and the guest revealed them for pathetic chattering fools they are. It was awesome.

Then the next guest also held her own on the gay and lesbian issue. She nailed them tit or tat in stereo. It was a highspeed brawl and she was like wonderwoman with magic wristbands.

2. Scarboro was intersting the night before too...
Edited on Fri Aug-01-03 05:57 AM by R Hickey
I've only watched Scarboro once, and it was eariler this week.

The guest was a college professor, who was defending a university study that said conservitives had dogmatic personalities, and that they only saw issues in black and white, without the ability to see the shades of gray. It lumped dogmatic leaders together, discribing Hitler, Stalin and Reagan in the same catigory, as far as dogmatism.

Scarboro tried to brow beat the professor, but the professor said that Scarboro was a "perfect example of the type of dogmatic personality that the study discribed."

Scarboro lost the argument so badly, that I made a mental note to watch his show again. I like seeing ignorant right-wingers get beat up on their own shows.

4. Scarborough....

I've only watched Scarborough Country a few times and I've never made it through the whole hour, but, when I did watch, Scarborough was shot down every time. His show, more than most, is done for completely low level reporting or a show along the style of Jerry Springer. It is not even intended to be a serious news program. He is trying to be an uglier, male Ann Coulter by being so ridiculous in his approach that you have to be extremely intellectually challenged to take him seriously at all, or you are watching him just to get a good laugh.

When he was going on about the supposed date rape by the Air Force Academy student, in which he did for days in a row..(I watch Chris Matthews, so I do here about his storylies..I mean storylines for the night..heh..)he got hammered by a woman who ACTUALLY KNEW FACTS ABOUT THE CASE. He told her to check her facts and sheepishly drop the subject from there on.

The man is not stupid, he is either lazy or wanting nothing more than to put on show that pushes buttons, yes, again like Jerry Springer or any of the other bottom feeder talk shows. Then again, maybe he is stupid.

And he has destroyed my last name. Please MSNBC, please cancel this creep. I need to respect my family name again.

Scarb....I can't say it!

5. I know some people who like the idiot
They are republicans of course. His material is just stupid, a bunch of red meat for republicans and a good example of the media's drive to trash Democrats.

6. Welcome to DU!
I've managed to avoid watching Scar...err, sorry. I've managed to not watch this prick from Florida - might have to turn it on next time he has an intelligent guest (which at this point may be never).

10. I have never watched the show
But when I first saw it on the onscreen cable guide, I thought it was Chuck Scarborough, newscaster for NBC in NYC when I was growing up. I thought he was a great newscaster, and I was sad to here everyone describe him as a RWer. Later I found out he was some former repuke Congressmen, and I was releived.

7. When will his next topic be:
"Interns, and the congressmen who kill them".

He probably doesn't need many guest speakers.
