Fundie nutsack threatens everyone
"Still, DeLay's speech to members of Israel's Knesset on Wednesday while touring the Holy Land took his my-way-or-the-highway approach much further. The Bush administration's "road map" to peace rests on cease-fires, a halt to Jewish settlements in Palestinian territories and Palestinian statehood. DeLay's vision for Israel does not. His Christian Zionist religious belief holds that a Jewish Israel is necessary for the second coming of Jesus Christ and the "rapture" that will deliver Christians into heaven. That view abjures negotiation since compromise by Israel would interfere with the fulfillment of the prophecy."

8. there's more to it
the truly fundamentalist segment of the Orthodox Jewish community (the Crown Heights haredim) believe returning to Israel is an admission that the Messiah already stopped by the first time. By their reckoning, Jews who return to Israel are de facto Messianic Jews (or in DeLay's worldview, Christians). Of course it's rather academic if you're waiting for Armageddon, but I think DeLay sees a short-term benefit in mass converting the Jews at least in his mind if not theirs.

since that word appears NOWHERE in the bible

Can someone explain the history of this and why the so called immutable word of god has been ammended over the centuries?

it was somewhere in Revelations, and if you believe THAT part of the bible, then I have no words for you, I could have written more believable stuff if you'd locked me in a dark room with some magic mushrooms. Yet more evidence the fundies are not only insane, but dangerous.

... "dispensationalism" and "Scofield Bible" and you'll have enough reading to keep you busy for a week.

Also, search for "Grace Halsell." She's written a couple of books on the subject.

14. Why is he so sure Jesus will be glad to see him?
He has screwed minorities and poor people over and over to get vast sums of money. Jesus said, 'What you do to the least of them, you do unto me' (or something like that). So Delay has hurt Jesus over and over with his money grubbing power. I think Jesus will be pissed when he sees Delay. :-)
