5. Not sure..
..whether he's gay, but he was a ballet dancer at one point. He does the commentary on a lot of dog shows, saw him last week -- I was really struck by how much he's coming to physically resemble his father, and his voice is getting that raspy edge to it too. While watching the canines, I daydreamed about how absolutely cool it would be if he went into politics.. how many dumber-than-dirt right-wingers would vote for him just because the ballot said "Ron Reagan"?! :D

7. salon story
"My father crapped bigger ones than George Bush," says the former president's son, in a flame-throwing conversation about the war and the Bush administration's efforts to lay claim to the Reagan legacy.

11. He's been married for many years
to a woman..I guess that doesn't mean he's not gay because, after all he was a ballet dancer!!

PS: lots of male dancers are not gay in case you wanted to know.

12. must've been a rumor I heard as a child...
I recall hearing that he was gay when Reagan was president. Must've been someone reacting to the "ballet dancer" thing... oh well...

13. Ronnie Reagan would be a better choice than most
Edited on Sat Aug-02-03 12:12 PM by SemperEadem
AT least HE has his finger on the pulse of the evils his father wrought while in office...

One of those VH-1's look back to the 80's had Ronnie talking about his father's administration's lack of concern over the AIDS crisis.. and he was very direct and pointed in his placing the blame squarely on his father.

I was completely surprised and my respect for him grew immensely---because at least he wasn't an automaton regurgitating crap like his older, late half sister, Maureen.

8. Here is what Ron Jr said about Bush
April 14, 2003 | The Bush inner circle would like to think of George W.'s presidency as more of an extension of Ronald Reagan's than of his one-term father's. Reagan himself, who has long suffered from Alzheimer's disease, is unable to comment on those who lay claim to his political legacy. But his son, Ron Jr., is -- and he's not pleased with the association.

"The Bush people have no right to speak for my father, particularly because of the position he's in now," he said during a recent interview with Salon. "Yes, some of the current policies are an extension of the '80s. But the overall thrust of this administration is not my father's -- these people are overly reaching, overly aggressive, overly secretive, and just plain corrupt. I don't trust these people."

9. Ron has taken Bill Press's place on Buchanan and Press
this week. I do not know if he was on today. Yesterday after a heated discussion on gay marriage with this Donahue guy (not Phil) who always tries to speak for the Catholics, Ron told him he could crawl back in his cave. I thought maybe that cut short his career at MSNBC. I didn't see the program today.
