Keith Olbermann: Al Gore not running, and not drafted (Friday night)
Keith Olbermann quoted a close Gore associate (whose name I failed to write down) as saying on behalf of Gore that his decision to not run in 2004 in final, and that he is not interested in being drafted to run either.

The Olbermann show will be on the Pacific coast soon.

Report: Some Dems want former veep to enter race

From John King
CNN Washington Bureau
Friday, August 1, 2003 Posted: 1:25 PM EDT (1725 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former Vice President Al Gore was "amused" by a newspaper report suggesting he is coming under pressure to reconsider his decision not to seek the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination, but he has not changed his mind, according to a confidant.

One of Gore's longtime political advisers told CNN Friday that Gore told him that "nothing has changed."

"He was definitive," said the associate, who said he spoke to the former vice president after The Hill newspaper suggested some Democrats were pressuring Gore to think about entering the race.

"Every conversation I have had with him leads me to believe there is no way -- under no circumstances," the Gore associate said. Asked specifically about the most recent conversation, the source said, "He was somewhat amused but was clear nothing has changed."

2. This was reported today on CNN
The "draft" is an absurd fantasy of a few people
who feel compelled to refight 2000. Gore is a dead
issue. Reality beckons.

4. Reality beckons we choose one of the 9 candidates running, or...
wait to see if Biden and/or Clark take the plunge. Time is running out for them if they want to announce.

9. not a dead issue
not in a thousand years. otherwise-good democrats giving up on getting back what was stolen from them in 2000 is also a problem.

<shakes head> how many fraudulent victories do you plan on conceding to them, anyway?

17. Your Anti-Gore Bias Is Showing....Again...
I don't believe for one second that you posted this for any other reason that your strong anti-Gore bias.

Regardless of the merits of the Draft Gore movement, or of the "Reality" to which you adhere, your history of Gore negativity shows that your true goal is to defame Al Gore and his followers.

6. Keywords, "Under no circumstances."
I don't blame him for not really being compelled by the Draft Gore movement. It's not as big as it could potentially be.

10. Hey, I've been following it from the beginning.
And I can say with certainity that it's smaller than Deans own grassroots movement. Don't be offended, I'm just pointing out facts.

But of course, I stand corrected that he didn't say it, but I see no reason to believe that that wasn't what he feels.

18. There is no such thing as a draft
Gore has a better chance of being trampled by
the Loch Ness monster than he does of being drafted.

The idea of a write-in candidate getting enough votes
to be a factor at a national convention is a total
fantasy.

I'm not sure that any Presidential nominee has ever been
drafted (the Goldwater/Eisenhower examples on the Draft Gore
website don't stand up under any kind of scrutiny) but the emergence
of the primary system has put this kind of back-room insider
politics to rest forever.

Reelect Samuel Tilden in '04 - I'm still not over 1876

21. Al Gore is working behind the scenes on building a liberal media network
...
Gore has also been helpful to Chicago venture capitalists Sheldon and Anita Drobny, who announced in February that they planned to fund a liberal radio network to counterbalance such conservative commentators as Rush Limbaugh. Several sources said Gore has helped introduce the Drobnys to such Hollywood political forces as producer-director Rob Reiner. Comedian Al Franken, author of the book "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot," is considering hosting a show on the Drobnys' network, and added that the couple has approached Gore to do regular essays. Anita Drobny declined to comment about any venture involving Gore, telling TIME: "I'm not at liberty to say anything about that. As far as Vice President Gore, you'll have to call him to ask him about his project and what they are doing." Gore and Hyatt did not respond to repeated requests for an interview.

Gore has also been spending time with Chicago venture capitalists Anita and Sheldon Drobny, who have vowed to spend $10 million to start a liberal talk radio network to counter conservatives like Rush Limbaugh. Time.com says Gore introduced the Drobnys to actor-director Rob Reiner and other liberal Hollywood heavyweights.

I will not support any of the nine dwarfs.

I suggest you change your name to "dem4america" or me4gore", because you are certainly not serious and you are not at all concerned about geting Bush out.
