Question for the Draft Gore folks:
At what point are you going to give up and devote your efforts to a candidate who wants to run for president? Seriously, are you folks planning on pushing to draft Gore till the general election?

1. I say, let them do what they want, Left.
How does it hurt you if they do this? Al Gore is a great man and I would love to see him as our nominee, personally.

3. You're probably right...
Just feels like we already have 9 candidates splitting the party, plus rumors of Clark and a few other dark-horse candidates and now the draft Gore thing (again).

I just hope they come on board at some point, because I don't think Gore is getting in the race.

4. Al Gore is working behind the scenes on building a liberal media network
...
Gore has also been helpful to Chicago venture capitalists Sheldon and Anita Drobny, who announced in February that they planned to fund a liberal radio network to counterbalance such conservative commentators as Rush Limbaugh. Several sources said Gore has helped introduce the Drobnys to such Hollywood political forces as producer-director Rob Reiner. Comedian Al Franken, author of the book "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot," is considering hosting a show on the Drobnys' network, and added that the couple has approached Gore to do regular essays. Anita Drobny declined to comment about any venture involving Gore, telling TIME: "I'm not at liberty to say anything about that. As far as Vice President Gore, you'll have to call him to ask him about his project and what they are doing." Gore and Hyatt did not respond to repeated requests for an interview.

Gore has also been spending time with Chicago venture capitalists Anita and Sheldon Drobny, who have vowed to spend $10 million to start a liberal talk radio network to counter conservatives like Rush Limbaugh. Time.com says Gore introduced the Drobnys to actor-director Rob Reiner and other liberal Hollywood heavyweights.

2. I gave up when tweety started bashing him again on hardball
I am so sick of hearing lies about Gore, I want to hear lies about Kerry, or Dean or Kucinich.

5. It depends...
on If Gore unequivocally rejects it or not.

At some point in time he will have to say something about his desires to be drafted or not.

I will wait until then. If he misses the opportunity to get back in (which is what I believe he will do just before primary season to minimize the backlash and maximize the splash) then I will see.

But I STILL will oippose Kerry in the primaries and I suppose Dean is the best man from my point of view - although his lack of name recognition and NRA rating and a few other spooky things make me unsure still.

Kucinich is awesome but I fear he does not have the "it" factor which Americans want and he has some baggage too.

I honestly don't know....

I will hold out hope for Gore until the end, I suppose.

7. I would like to see Gore drafted
But I will be more than happy to vote for any Dem running for president next year in the general election. And do so with a smile on my face too. So why should I give up hope? I don't want anyone to give up hope on any candidate that may end up the Dem candidate next year. This is no black and white issue with me. I don't really care if its Gore, Dean, Kerry, or any other Dem next year. That don't matter to me. What matters to me is to send Junior and his minions packing back to the pig farm in Waco for a permanent vacation next year before they kill us all with their stupidity.

8. Here is the point.
Those involved in the Draft Gore movement have no intention of pushing it beyond the primaries. Our main objective is to get Gore back in the race.

We firmly believe that Gore is the best possible person for the Democratic nomination because he is by far the most qualified, he already beat Bush once, and every single poll that includes him proves that he would be the front runner the second he gets back in the race. Most importantly, his is the strongest Democrat against Bush even though he has been silent politically since December!

Zogby Poll

"Two other prominent Democrats who have not yet thrown their hats into the ring, New York Senator Hillary Clinton and former Vice President Al Gore, also fall short in a theoretical match-up against President Bush: he would best both Clinton (53%-39%) and Gore (51%-42%), although Gore comes closer than any other Democrat, declared or undeclared."

http://zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=688

That is why we say DRAFT GORE!!!

9. The Democratic party is in denial...
...and that doesn't bode well for our future.

- We've been told to move on and get over the theft of Democracy and free and fair elections. Who told us to move on? The Right Wing and the DLC.

- I just don't recognize my party anymore. They've used and thrown away Gore like a cheap whore and now deny him like a Judas.

- Where is the honest and integrity of the party of the people?
