What has become of the Color-Coded Terror Alert System
I cannot remember the last time I heard about it. Has it been abandoned? What at level is it now? Shrinking Violet? The Faded Rose of colored glasses fame? Maybe I am out of the loop, but that dang alert was omnipresent just months ago.

1. Color Coded Crap
Ever notice no one pays attention to this stupid thing anymore? If they went up to orange and SOMETHING HAPPENED, then maybe, but they keep saying threat threat threat, and then WE THWARTED WE THWARTED WE THWARTED, and I think they can say whatever they want. I could say I kicked Bush's ass and called him Shirley. Doesn't mean that happened either. But it sounds good. I don't even believe it happened how they say because some of those alleged hijackers on those planes are STILL ALIVE! God, people in this country are sheep. I don't feel any more threatened than I did pre 911...I don't feel anymore safe post Patriot Act. In fact, I feel more threatened BY OUR GOVERNMENT. And mark my words if something else happens, we can all say good bye to America as we used to know it...for good...

4. The Little Boy WHo Cried Wolf
I think the only time people will pay heed to it is when it is red. The fable about the "Little Boy Who Cried Wolf" comes to mind as to why people no longer consider it a big deal. There have been too many false alarms.

5. Bush trashed to color code system because it confused him too much
George came up with a more better idea...
He is hiring the robot from the TV series lost in space.
When the threat level rises, the robot will wave it's arms while saying "Danger, Will Robinson, Danger"

Personally, I'd pay attention to the robot!

6. It's become Spearchucker Jones
You know, you see him less and less and one day he's gone, and Hawkeye and Trapper John never mention him again.

7. The states started raising hell.
the Terra alerts cost the states big money. To them it is another unfunded mandate.
bush promised to help pay for homeland security, but all that they are getting is a song and dance from the chickenhawk.

8. When Bush hits 50 percent
you'll see an orange or red out of desperation.
Until then they'll keep it at yellow and say there have been no attacks because they're doing such a bang up job protecting the people

9. family unrest
I had students coming to school upset because the warnings were elevated. They couldn't focus or complete any work because they knew the attack was coming. One mom finally admitted that it caused too much stress in her family, especially when no attack came. The kid did a lot better when mom decided to ignore the warnings. Ignoring the system put her family back together. Mom and dad stopped fighting. Stress levels went down. Kids did not fight as much. Their grades went up. They will probably vote Republican in 2004.

Maybe that was why it disbanded. People need to feel more secure about how Bush is handling the was on Terrrrorrrr.

10. Tom Ridge is on
Meet the Press tomorrow, Sunday. Maybe he'll tell us what happened to the color code. But more likely, he'll try to scare people with more terrorist attacks coming.
