Things may be looking up....

I found this essay and had to post the link. Those of us who fell into the 50+ section of the last age poll at DU have often criticized our younger colleagues for their 'lack of committment'. Here is an excellent example of exactly the opposite (make special note of the source):thumbsup:

I posted the link for two reasons. The writer is a young man in his early twenties at one of the most rabidly conservative universities in the country. I am proud to say that I know the young man well, and laud his efforts to inculcate some semblance of curiosity in his colleagues. Perhaps the most interesting part is the response section. While I realize that the essay says nothing that we have not recognized openly here on DU, combining the content with the context make it a worthwhile read.
