Now Poodle starts taking lonnnnggggg summer vacations too.
According to the Barbados Nation News, Poodle, accompanied by family, arrived in the island yesterday for a 3 week holiday. I know the Brit's get way more vacation time than Americans generally do (Dubya being a notable exception), but it seems sort of strange for a British PM to be taking a 3 week stretch off all at once.

BRITISH Prime Minister Tony Blair and his family are in Barbados for a three-week holiday.
Blair, his wife Cherie and their four children arrived at Grantley Adams International Airport yesterday around 3:15 p.m. after an eight-hour British Airways flight.

Amid tight security, which included two Royal Barbados Police Force outriders, members of the Special Branch and British security officials, the Blairs were transported in a convoy of vehicles to the exclusive Sugar Hill development in St James, where they will stay at the mansion of British entertainer, Sir Cliff Richard.

I guess Poodle figured he could afford to take a 3 week breather in the Caribbean since his boss was going to be away from the office for a whole month clearing brush on the Texas pig farm with the odd jaunt on the side to pass the hat around for his billionair buddies to drop in their brib... er, contributions.

1. I think Blair has in the past split his holiday time...
...between Tuscany and France. I don't think three weeks is anything unusual.
