But childlessness is an a-political condition. People don't have kids for all kinds of reasons from choice to infertility.

These are merely ugly generalizations based on what appears to be simple prejudice of some kind.

They vote both ways based on their individual beliefs. This line of thought leads to nothing but stereotyping, classism, and prejudice.

There's no rule, "Oh, I'm divorced, so naturally I'm more inclined to one political party." That's a very dangerous perspective.

that the dems have a vast lead among African-Americans, hispanics and whites whose income is below $20K. All other income groups lean Repug.

Married people are much more likely to be Republicans than single people are. Married+kids are even more likely to be Repug.

9. that poll is f*d up....

it is not accurate

22% of respondents said they were part of the "military personnell/soldier" group and that would mean, if it was representative, that there were 50 million military personnell/soldiers in the U.S. an d 16% ID'd themselves as farmers! yeah right! and 24% I.D.'d themselves as "veterans" are there 60 million veterans in this country? that is about one half of the adult male population.

I'm a divorced, white femail w/o kids. Would be in the professional/managerial class if I had a job right now. And I will always vote Dem. :dem:

13. Married, no kids.

White, male, vet, make about 60K per year in retirement, married 22 years, live in a semi-rural area, agnostic (wife practicing Catholic).

We both are registered Democrats and usually vote Dem (never republican or libertarian). Both voted for Gore in '00.

We are also both Socialists, pro-choice, anti-war, pro-gun control, pro-environment, anti-death penalty, loathe bush and his masters and lackeys. We may both end up voting Green in '04 unless the Dems run an anti-war candidate.

So, now you know how childless married couples vote.
