If Aristide is not being held against his will where is the press avail?
I find it curious that we have not seen pictures of Aristide and that he has not been made available to the press. If he is free he should be able to just meet with the press and tell his side of the story, right? What am I missing?

2. I would think that he is eager to talk to the press. . .
. . .and if I was the US I would be going out of my way to show that he is not being held against his will.

4. Am I wrong to expect that he would be available if not being held?

7. He is speaking on CNN now.

Of course he would have to be put on to issue a statement.

It is logical to assume it was for that reason that Mrs. Aristide was also granted protective custody.

5. Last I heard reported was that he was under 'armed protection'
The Central African Republic is currently ruled by a military dictatorship. The 'foreign minister' for this dictatorship has assured the world that Aristide is not under house arrest, but rather, protective custody.

He is not free.

10. They better get him on camera, fast
If they want to prove their point that he is just peachy-keen-fine. Have they roughed him up? Is he still insistent on saying he has been kiddnapped, and it would be more powerful on camera? And why the hell would he choose to go to a destablized state in Central Africa when he was just in Miami a week and a half ago? Is that really the only country that would take him? Geez, even Duvallier got to go to Cannes. This whole thing stinks like a corpse, and the smell is coming from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
