1. No but they tend to want rating systems enforced
Video games typically do not enforce the fact that you must be over 17 to buy a 'M' (mature) rated game. Also movies let way too much pass for PG-13 because the industry makes more money if they are not rated R. I'm sorry but 100% violence should not be PG-13 just because there are no exposed breasts or sexually graphic language.

3. I'm all for enforcing ratings.
However, if a child of mine came home with a game I found inappropriate, I would make him take it back. It's not up to just the vendors to enforce the regulations...parents have to play a role as well.

5. Very true
but since many parents are irresponsible and uncaring I think a common sense enforcement of rating is in order.

2. no, they can't
at least not many of them and not nearly enough to make it OK across the boards. There is a reason that 18 is the age of consent. And I know a great many kids that age who are not capable of making good descions, I'm beginning to wonder if it should be raised to 21.

4. I think we should give birth and get them their own apartments
what the hell is the sense in raising kids?

We can't/should try to stop them from doing drugs

We can't/shouldn't try to stop them from having sex to early and unprotected

We can't/and shame on you if you try, to raise them in the religion of our choice

We can't tell them how to dress or what to eat, or not to smoke

Why on earth would we want a ratings system to help parents avoid bringing porn and violence into the house?

Shit, just pop em out and send them off to college or trade school!
