1. I don't get to see it
Charlie Ergen of Dish Network got held up by Viacomm for more $$. Chuck sez "no deal". So no Comedy Central. Probably just Murdock trying to squeeze Dish out.

2. Pretty much sucks.
I think Viacom are the assholes in this deal, but it's the subscribers like us that are really getting screwed.

Man, I miss the Daily Show. And South Park.

13. Agree. That show is the gutter.
So, from the Daily Show to Nightline's topic of depression. At least it's hopeful.

18. Tough Crowd blows.
I happened to watch Colin Quinn's introduction after The Daily Show ended, and he went on a rant about how we shouldn't be giving money to Muslim charity groups, and that the media is liberal and biased for not reporting on the death of a white victim in a hate crime.

I take solace in the fact that The Daily Show is the jewel in Comedy Central's crown (airing three times a day), while the Tough Crowd repeat in the evenings was yanked from the schedule.

15. I love Jon Stewart, but he tends to suck up to whoever is on...
I don't remember who the guest was a few weeks back, but he yelled at the audience for being partisan... and then stuck up for Bush. I was yelling at Jon Stewart for Christ's sake.

16. He doesn't suck up...
Edited on Wed Mar-10-04 01:41 AM by Borgnine
...he tries to be courteous to all guests. If he let every neocon guest have it, then The Daily Show wouldn't be as respected (yes, respected) as it stands today. Jon Stewart is in the position as the sole left-leaning voice in a conservative media, and I believe it's a position he doesn't want to jeopardize. Occasionally he'll get in a few jabs great jabs though, such as his 1984 quip tonight.

Basically, he's respective towards the neocon guests, but lets them have in during the first fifteen minutes of the show. It's a fair trade off.
