Bush Is Down To 54% Approval in Latest NY Times Poll
No link

but the poll was conducted from 7/13- 7/27 using the usual controls.

The longer the poll is conducted (within reason) the more accurate the results.

I am beginning to think Bush can be had.

1. It's a set up
The Republicans are pushing the polls down to low levels on purpose, so the democratic candidates will start sweating. Even Dean has seen the prize and renounced that he is a liberal now that he feels some power. The point is he was set up. Right before the election the Republicans have a new war planned, and that will give the Republicans the needed edge they need. General Clark is the only one that can be our next great president of the United States.

The only way for democratic to get out of it is to say its all set for the next years and a half before Election Day.

5. Dean said from the beginning that he is no liberal.
Its the press that has been painting him that way.

Republicans are SHIT and the only way that they know how to win something is to STEAL it.

9. I say the opposite; this poll is artificially high, with his numbers
actually in the low 30's.

11. It's always been below 50%
If they have high numbers they wouldn't have to mention the poll numbers. Do you know what I mean?

I agree with you it's around 30%.

2. Nothing new. He's in a death spiral and can't stop the downtrend.
Nothing can save his ass now unless the dem nominee does something really stupid.

6. You can hear the death rattle
there is absolutely nothing the chimp can do in 15 months that will boost the economy, lower unemployment, bring the soldiers home, orimprove america's image in the world.
He has alianated so many groups, young, old, poor, middle class, military, women, you name it he has fucked people except the rich and there isn't enough of those bastards to pull his fat from the fire.
In fact I don't think he'll make it to the election, I look for a challenge to arise from within the repuke party, costing the chimp the nomination.
If he does make the nomination, then I really believe there will be a third party challenge akin to a Perot that will cost them the election.
The chimp is toast, another terror attack, soldiers dying daily in foreign countries for unclear and suspect reasons. More and more military brass are yelling for more manpower that means a draft. Either draft the needed manpower for occupation or suffer massive losses and run with your tail between your legs.
No, I'm not going to worry about this idiot, better start worrying about who is going to knock him off the throne.

10. Starting another war
would have him in the teens, maybe. Another war, another attack will be the official death knell.

12. Regime-changing CASTRO Might Do It for Shrub
Robin WRIGHT of the LA Times said on MtP that NO FURTHER military escapade is possible for the next 18 months because 1) the military is stretched too thin, 2) Shrub's credibility is sapped over WMD and can't go to a new adventure without proving the past one, and 3) the public is stressed out.

I agree that another attaack on us would be a condemnation of Shrub.

But kick, kick, kickety kick for the 54%.
