The line at the voting station was NONEXISTENT
Edited on Wed Mar-10-04 10:43 AM by Prisoner_Number_Six
I did my duty and voted yesterday (Rowlett Texas)-- at 2:30pm, when I got there, it was just me and my sister. The grand total of Democratic votes cast at that time FOR THE DAY (including ours) was a whopping 58. The Republican side claimed 77. Wowzers. I can only hope the actual election brings more people out!

Jeez Louise. Does no one care anymore? Perhaps we DESERVE a dictatorship....

Florida county orders recount in primary
Election outcome unaffected as Kerry easily carries state

(CNN) -- Election officials in Bay County, Florida, plan to recount all of the almost 20,000 ballots cast in Tuesday's presidential primary because of vote-counting irregularities, election Supervisor Mark Andersen said Wednesday.

"I'm not the happiest camper," Andersen said hours before the recount was scheduled to get under way. "We're going to redo everything."

According to Andersen, the county's optical scanner did not count the votes correctly because of a discrepancy between the way the absentee and standard ballots were printed.

Andersen did not release the initial results, but The Associated Press reported that Rep. Dick Gephardt of Missouri held a 2-to-1 lead over Kerry in the county, with more than 60 percent of precincts tallied.

3. I liked Jon Stewart's comment after Super Tuesday
All you people who have primary elections coming up, just pretend your voting booth is a time machine.

10. Turnout
Edited on Wed Mar-10-04 04:23 PM by janeaustin
Our voter turnout wasn't too bad, considering the 10% the news
people were reporting.

Precinct Caucus was very light, though - - but certainly all
like-minded.

Gotta realiize that the Prez primary was a done deal, and the
only contested race we had was for state rep.

The good news there is that our guy who stood up to Delay and
went to Oklahoma won renomination handily.

8. Turnout
I heard that turn out in FLorida was lower than it was in 2000 when Gore was running (at that point) unopposed.
