Liberia?
Should we go in or not? This "civil" war has been going on for nearly 15 years, but now that the rebels are at the gates of the capital there is a cry for help.
I for one would like to see european and african troops go in as peace keepers. It seems to me that it would be a rerun of Somalia.

1. I believe
ECOMIL force has been deployed and is due to arrive on the 4th. Yes, the US should be involved. They're begging for our help.

Will be too little, too late.

Instead of focusing all our resources on Iraq, there are a couple of other countries and conflicts that we should have paid more attention to.

First of all, Bu$h Sr. shouldn't have allowed Taylor to launch his rebellion and take control of the country 12 years ago. How Taylor managed to escape from a US Federal Prison and get to Africa in the first place is another one of those unanswered questions.

From there Taylor and his rebels took control of the diamond mines in Sierra Leone and al Qaeda found a cheap and plentiful source of funding. With the money from selling these 'blood diamonds', Taylor was able to buy all the arms he ever needed, to keep his rebels going and terrorizing most of the countries in the region. Taylor is responsible for killing 100,000's of people, many of them in very brutal ways.

A couple of months ago, the UN filed charges against Taylor so that he could be tried as a war criminal. Bu$h should have supported the UN's efforts to bring Taylor to justice. Instead Bu$h, looked the other way. This is what has set off the current round off fighting in Liberia and because of Bu$h's indecisiveness, Liberia has fallen into total chaos. Bu$h not only has the blood of 1000's of Afghans and Iraqis, he also has the blood of 100,000's Liberians on his dainty white hands.
