How well will the Democrats do with the youth vote?
Gore got the lowest percentage of the 18-29 vote of any Democrat in recent memory, narrowly beating * and not even getting 50%, with Nader taking about 7%. This can be partially blamed on his lack of personality and appeal that Clinton had, but I think the two main reasons are rather simple:

1-Tipper
2-Lieberman

Kerry hopefully won't have those problems. The problem though is most of the people my age were going for Dean. Will they transfer? Kerry doesn't have the appeal Dean does, but simply not being * is enough. He'll no doubt do better than Gore, but as good as Clinton?

I will also say that I don't know a single person who likes *, but I go to a rather overwhelmingly liberal university, where Nader got over half the votes * got in the precinct that includes my dorm, and last year was one of the precincts in my district where the Dem challenger beat my Repuke congressman, even with the Green taking 8%.

1. Kerry's Daughters and Step-sons
I think they will bring in the youth vote. Now that poses an interesting thought. Can you imagine Bush's twins on the campaign stump? Maybe on stage with Kerry's family?
