5. Nope, that just the only place in Idaho where people are concentrated
The rest is all rural and ranches. I'm exaggerating a bit, but not much. There ain't a whole lot of big population centers in Idaho :)

7. Love this.
No question which side the guy who runs that web site is on:

"...Rural America is generally conservative, not because they are "old fashioned", but because liberal agendas have harmed rural communities. Liberal environmental laws ruin rural economies, liberal estate taxes ruin family farms, while federal dollars for roads, housing, and modernization all go to the cities. Urban America is generally Liberal for exactly the opposite reasons. The environment needs to be preserved and pristine so that urban people can go four wheeling on the weekends."

Uh, yeah. That's it.

9. try cartographic variations on 2000, I still say it is shades of purple.
I still hear people call into c-span and say Bush really won, just look the whole country is red. Like it is land mass vote we do.

8. 'population of counties won' stat is misleading
as it assumes everyone in those counties voted for the winner. i've seen limabugh toss that one around a bit. but what it all comes back to is "who got more votes?"

i think we all know the answer to that.

and no, it wasn't larouche
