Kerry calls Bushies a "crooked, lying group"...
"We've just BEGUN to fight! These guys are -- these guys are the most crooked, lying group I've ever seen."

On his radio show this afternoon, Ed Schultz several times has played a recording of John Kerry saying this in an undertone in a private conversation when he apparently didn't know a microphone was on. I sure hope this is Kerry's true attitude toward the Bushies and that it is reflective of how much spine he has when it comes to standing up to those bullies.

1. Say it loud! They're crooked, lying, and proud!
I hope Kerry says it many, many more times. And loudly.

7. Exactly
Every day, I'm becoming more excited about Kerry's ability to stand up to these thugs and call it like it is.

15. Me, too.
I see good signs that he will.

And when Wes Clark speaks for him on TV, he smacks 'em down,
too.

9. I am impressed...
Clark alluded to the shameful conduct of this administration, and now that the Dem nominee apparently is Kerry, Kerry is slamming these guys on the truth!

The gloves are off...let's hope that Kerry bashes them with the truth at every level. It may be pleasant for us to hear, but it will drive the RWer's nuts; you cannot fight the truth, it always comes through!

into a Bush fascists private conversation. Now wouldn't that be revealing.

13. Ignorant question...does Schultz' show have liberal or conservative bias?
And, what was the context of playing the quote?

Not sure if he's super-liberal, but he is one of the few good guys and gals out there.

19. "Kerry calls Bushies a "crooked, lying group"..."
I wish Kerry would have had the guts to say who he was talking about. I mean, his aides fell all over themselves getting to any microphone they could find to claim that he was referring to conservative media personalities. We all know who he meant. If that's how he feels, why is he so afraid to admit it? Seems like America deserves a man with the courage of his convictions. Wow, pretty disappointing for us Democrats. Don't you think 9215?

Too, too bad. Seems like America is gonna get that man when Kerry is elected. And "us Democrats" will certainly celebrate the exodus of the cowardly shitbird currently robbing the treasury and putting all American families in danger with his theft and stupidity. Naw mean?

But, to answer your question: I wouldn't even mind if his aides "clarified" the question otherwise. It's called politics - and I can't think of a better way to shore up the base while easing the undecideds into the fold. Sounds good to me. Moreover, what's funny about the aides response in this context is that they know, like everyone else not thoroughly vapid knows, that the conservative media personalities are outrageous liars and crooks. Between the drug-addled Limbaugh and the traitor Novack, a reasonable person could hardly disagree with Kerry's statements.

Next time, you may also want to start with "I have a conservative friend who says....X" This is a tactic almost as transparent as the old "We Democrats" gambit.

25. What took him so long?
Not that I'm not delighted he finally said it but why almost four years after the coronation did one congressional Democrat finally utter the truth? We here at DU knew all along what crooks they were. I hope our Democrats finally shed their pink tutus and face these mafioso style politicians square in the face.
