most americans.

when their leaders failed to protect them, they took to the streets in the hundreds of thousands to protest, then 60 per cent (!) of them showed up at the ballot box, and voted the incompetent mo-fos out of office!

1. I'll second that!
Let's hope we don't have to suffer another attack in order to wake people up.

6. It's so much easier in a multi-Party parliamentary system.
Here we get two sizes must fit all or fuck off.

That said I think a rebirth of Economic/Social Justice will happen here in the very near future:-)

20. My money is on HC too.
The collapse of one of the big guns may be a trigger.

Either that or the dismantling of SS, MediCare, HUD, etcetera, may do it too.

2. I think you may see a similar thing here with another terrorist attack
If the Bush crew doesn't have time to get marching orders out there, the people should interpret it as Spaniards did--these guys brought this crap on us by murdering people in the Middle East who had nothing to do with terrorism.

4. Yea they sure done good
After the bombers killed 200 and injured thousands they demanded the Spanish citizens vote out the party supporting America. The Spanish citizens listened and voted the way they were directed.

Good news all around! No mor American support and the bombings will not stop as promised. Sometimes it pays to give in to those that know better and have you by the throat.

He's been splattering that "terrorists have won" tripe all over the forums. The one time he's veered off message is with this funny post:

11. the only terrorist control I can see is the constant use of it by Buschco.
Edited on Sun Mar-14-04 09:18 PM by pinto
Spanish are free to vote for whoever they choose, as are we.

Busboy's constant "terror" rallying cry preys on fear, and does not support our freedom. It supports our subservience to fear.

12. Once again: DO YOU HAVE A SOURCE FOR THIS ASSERTION?
> The Spanish citizens listened and voted the way they were directed.

As you've been reminded, repeatedly, 90% of Spanish citizens were against the invasion of Iraq. If the bombers wanted the Spanish to vote against Aznar, they certainly didn't have to blow anything up to achieve it.

No. Anzar didn't listen and do what 90% of the citizens directed. I mean, if you are going to base your opinion that the bombing caused the outcome of the election, I might as well base my opinion on the 90% that were against the war BEFORE IT STARTED just threw his ass out and the bombings only made the differnece at the margins.

5. Viva Espana
...the also saw through the attemtp to politicize the terror attack by linking it to ETA when there wasnt any proof.

And 90% of the Spaniards opposed joining in the Iraq war, so, they illustrated this in the election..

7. Yes I congratulate the Spaniards for voting wisely.
Edited on Sun Mar-14-04 09:12 PM by Cascadian
I can only hope that now Blair will have to resign and Labour Party swing back to the left and the rest of the conservative, pro-Bush governments in Europe will lose as a result of what happened in Madrid.

according to recent numbers.

I wish we could get that kind of turnout.

15. Just heard 83% on CNN as the turnout. Latest numbers, overwhelming...
Interesting isn't it. I wonder if our voter turnout went up for the mid-terms after 9/11. Certainly for us Dems it didn't, so assume the Repugs swarmed out to support the Chimp.

Spanish got it all correct. But, that's because they learned from watching what we've gone through here in America and what's happened in GB with Blair. Liars they said, and they turned out in droves.

Let's hope November 2004 is like that here in America!

16. Props to the Spanish!!
I posted in LBN a 'analysis' that was one of a few dozen or so being circulated that essentially suggested the bombings would HELP the Popular Party and increase it's hold on power...

Boy was conventional wisdom wrong and the Spanish resisted the 'propaganda' suggesting that ETA had staged the bombings...as if the Marxist leaning ETA would kill 'workers' at train stations

The Spanish elector resisted the propaganda and tossed out Anzar and his miserable lot...hopefully more will follow including the Three Bs and Howard...

Just look at him! :loveya: :loveya: :loveya: :loveya: :loveya: :loveya: How could anybody NOT vote for him?

He's a socialist, looks intelligent, and is absolutely delicious too. I'd vote for him in an attosecond! :9

This is not to denigrate the citizens of Spain who voted for him. They got to hear his point of view and hear his ideals. That alone makes them superior to at least 40% of US citizens.
