voter idiocy
The latimes had an article about Liberty. Mo a small town which has correctly voted for the presidential elections ever year since Kennedy. After interviewing several people there two answers stuck in my mind:
Im voting for Bush because he is a proven leader - never heard of Kerry"
AND (hold on to your chairs) some stupid old biddy said "I voted for bush because he has a CUTE BUTT"!!!
This is the country supposedly leading the world???
Oh please - death where is thy sting?

2. There's no such thing as a "bellweather" communitty
It always votes like the rest of the nation...until it doesn't. Take Crook County, Oregon. That county had voted for the winner in every election since county lines were drawn in 1884. Then in 1992 it voted for George H.W. Bush, and for Dole in 1996.

3. Or the author of the LATimes article could have made up those
quotes. The Times often carries articles by right wing columnists and you can usually sift the wheat from the chafe. I still haven't had a chance to read today's Times.
