every year for those who don't register for the DRAFT. Warning letters are sent out and student loans and driver's licenses refused but no one gone to jail in years and years.

But what would Ashcroft do in a second Bush term with a re-instated DRAFT???

They will also likely use the Smart Border Agreement with Canada to seal off the crossing-points into Canada for young men on the DoJ's list of non-compliance for registration.

BUSH '04 = DRAFT '05

1. We really can't say this enough
I mean it's hard for them to deny in a believable fashion, particularly since they don't want to look like hypocrites.

To be fair, they may not have decided on the draft yet. THey want to be ready in case they do go for the draft, but it poses a ton of downsides for them as well--the Mid term Elections for one thing. And it could cripple the Republican party in the same way Vietnam crippled the democrats. And libertarians have som pretty strong moral problems with the draft.

But if Kerry is in the white house, we know there won't be a draft. If President Bush gets a second term, it's 6 to one there will be a draft (I'd say).

2. Actually they need a DRAFT right now, that's why the 40,000 stop-loss
orders that prevent 40,000 from leaving the military when their time is up. Their paychecks now read they will be contributing to their retirement on the DoD payroll until 2030.

It's a "DRAFT PER SE" already!!
