You didn't get the Iraq Invasion Reason #52 memo? We actually removed Saddam because he was a really, really bad man, had mass graves, and could have developed WMD programs in the future, which would have led to them starting to develop WMDs.

do what we wanted with him. That was the Bush administration's reasoning, I believe. The US doesn't make a habit of deposing bad, bad leaders, though there have been scores and scores of them. There were reasons why it was suddenly okay to depose Saddam that the standard answer doesn't get at.
