There is hope !

Please permit to explain why I think it is so. My wife and I visited our friends today for a "birthday" party for the Leos in the family. Including myself, there were six Leos.

Anyway, our friends have two kids that are going to school at CU. Their youngest, Michael, will be a freshman next semester. (My wife used to babysit them before they were in kindergarten) We got to meet Michael and his girlfriend, Nicole, and we were both so surprised at how informed they both were and how "revolutionary" (almost) in their thoughts. Nicole is 17 years old and my wife and she talked for about two hours. She was quite impressive.

She was of the opinion that it was disgraceful the way the US showed the bodies of Uday and Qusay. She was of the opinion that it degraded our country. I felt so encouraged after speaking with her. We are not alone. We do have the intelligent and informed young people on our side. I do not know what their numbers are in total, but with these two on our side, there will be many more, I am sure.

I encouraged them to remain "skeptical" of authority and to try and understand the power of the corporate media in the whole propaganda scheme of persuasion on the American people. They do understand what is happening. I cannot understand why I was so encouraged by only two teenagers, but it was more than that.

My birthday is tomorrow. :D

My birthday was actually yesterday but it's sort of an annual event with our friends.. :)

Always a special day and I'm so glad you had such an uplifting experience as part of the celebration.

There are clear-thinking people out there, and we need to encourage them just as you did.

My little sister, who's 19, is also informed and leans left. She'll be able to vote in her first presidential election come '04. I haven't talked to her about it much yet, though. I'll have to make sure she's registered to vote so we can chalk another one up on the Dem side.
