OMG! Look at This Anti-US Protest in Baghdad Today! Yikes!
Edited on Fri Mar-19-04 10:52 AM by leftchick

Shiites and Sunni worshippers join forces in a large protest in Baghdad against the American occupation of Iraq (news - web sites) following the traditional Friday noon prayer, Friday, March 19, 2004. (AP Photo/Hussein Malla)

....This is the only place I have seen anything about this. I just came upon it in a slideshow on Yahoo. I guess all the news today is about aWol*s safer, better world and getting OBL's right hand guy.
I wonder if colin can hear them in the US compound?

It will put her little brain in a dither. Still and all, since she knows Gawd is on her side, I guess she figures she's invincible.

Soon the Wahhabi, the Kurdish, the Bat’this will be joining the Sunni and the Shi`ites. Perhaps they'll put their civil war off until the U.S. is driven out of Iraq?

If so, then this is not good place to be.

21. Neither the Shiites nor Sunnis want civil war.
It's the neo-conservatives who keep pumping it. Because having conquered Iraq, they want an excuse to divide it, so it will never again be an independent economic and military power.

Remember that, when the bombs blow up mosques and pilgrims.

27. Iraqis unite to condemn interim constitution
Thousands of Muslim Sunni and Shia gathered after Friday prayers in al-Adhamya and al-Kadhimya districts in Baghdad to demonstrate against the interim Iraqi constitution.

The demonstrations came on the eve of the first anniversary of the war on Iraq with the crowd swelling as more and more Iraqis joined in.

Demonstrators chanted "Yes to Iraq, no to sectarianism, no to US occupation", in a bid to show the commitment to national unity among Iraq's various religions, sects, and ethnicities.

48. The End of the Occupation
If all the groups in Iraq that the US actually wants to keep devided figure out who the common enemy is the US & UK will be facing a formidable force. The Iraqis have been colonized before by the Brits and they know what the US wants. Perhaps, the Iraqis will be united after all.

The US Media corp. shills do not wish to cover this because it is not a plus for their masters in the Oligarchy that rules America.

If, as many say the Bushco knew that there would be no WMDS
how did they think that they could get away with the Big Lie?

Also, how could Bushco not conceive of the situation that the Iraqis could unite against the Occupation; that the Iraqis would merely accept a US Pupet Govt. to rule them while the US controlled the oil and privatized the other industries in Iraq and made servants of the Iraqi people?

55. CNN did talk about the protest
I just saw a clip and went to the website and they have a story about it there too. Granted, the snip below is all they say (most of the article is about the two Arab journalists) but there is a picture of the protesters too.

<snip>
In the capital, Iraqis took to the streets to protest the U.S.-led occupation, expressing outrage over poor security and unemployment.

The demonstrations came hours after a few dozen reporters walked out in protest as Powell gave his address.

The reporters were angry over the deaths of two Arab journalists, who they believe were killed by U.S. troops.
