2. Dont dismiss him totally...he's been playing for our side alot lately...
I think his only point is why didnt he come out with this info until he had a book to sell. I think that is a reasonable question. But I dont think that lessens the authors credibility. And Imus is also led around by Bernard...he will ditto anything Bernard has to say.

11. After listening to him for years...
Edited on Tue Mar-23-04 07:20 AM by Cannikin
In all honesty, he's on the side of the person he thinks is going to win...it changes daily.

Bernard McGuirk is his producer and is usually the one feeding Imus his opinions....look for the bald guy in the control room. Thats him.

Like I said, I've been listening to him for years. He'll call out both sides. I dont think he's biased...he just doenst put up with B.S. from either side. I cant say I blame him. You've got to respect him for calling out some of these big name reporters and telling them they are full of it, and are actually helping the Bush propaganda machine...it was either yesterday or last week when this happened..I'm not remembering who he attacked, but basicaly accused her of being a 'Karen Ryan' even though she's a network news anchor.

And ALL politicians are wolves in sheeps clothing.

4. Alter called Imus
on playing "the devil's advocate." Imus responded by saying he couldn't understand why Alter was attacking the Black woman from the administration. Alter then called Condi Rice "pathetic." If we look at this exchange as a whole, it appears to me that Imus was allowing Jonathan Alter to answer the critics from the right. He then set-up Condi for a great slam by Alter. Rather than see this as a negative thing, I'd say it was a wonderful way to reach the middle-America with a solid message that Clarke is a serious man with an honest message, and that the bush administration is lying to the public when they try to smear Clarke.

8. I think you are on to something there
And he ended the segment by playing Clinton's denial of having an affair with Lewinski. That to me anyway, was some kind of indication that Smirk is lying, a sort of backhanded way of saying it.

18. I've said before that in Politics 101
that there are 3 groups: those who will always vote for you; those who never will; and those who are undecided. The third group will decide this election, of course, because groups one & two are closely divided.(Think 2000 election!) Now, Imus could put on a program that is geared entirely to the first group, even specifically to the 13 d.u.ers who watch his show on any given morning. But the third group would switch to CNN or even Fox, and the sponsors would take their $$$ elsewhere. I hope everyone will agree this is not likely to happen. So, let's think: if old Don Imus wanted to support Kerry, who he has endorsed, and to reach that group #3 with a clear and concise message, how to best do that? Huh, how about putting on Jonathan Alter, lobbing some easy questions that mimick the group #2, and letting Alter slam them? This is not rocket science, and some of the people who are complaining sound grumpier than Imus. Be happy! Imus is reaching a group of people who would never consider reading d.u., but who will be voting for Kerry in November as a result of the Imus show.

5. Was Imus a Democrat befor he made that speech that Clinton didn't find....
Edited on Tue Mar-23-04 06:56 AM by patricia92243
funny? I've wondered that for a long time. That was the only time I had seen Imus and was surprised he is nothing but a pub mouthpiece.

Anybody know if he was Democrat and has now "turned"?

14. Trust me...he's NOT biased..tune in tomorrow and he could have...
an entirely different opinion. He calls it how he see's it. He defends are side just as often....but he flip flops in a big way. He's well known for it and often gets picked on about it by guest and other staff.
