Lets tell our stories: How Bushwhacked have you been in life?

Ill start.
My stepson was taken from us to Iraq and is under mortar fire in Baghdad.
My mother filed for bankruptcy, she is 77, because her prescription costs are so high and she had to sell her furniture, and I put her up in a house I own but I pay her taxes , she also had to cut down on food.
My retirement funds went to hell, I had them in the stock market and I lost half of everything and may have to sell my house.
My sister lost her job, has 5 kids, and now all but one of her kids has to live with her ex husband who is trying to take them away from her because she has no work.
The odds of my widows benefits from Social Security being there in 2013 are nil.
I had to drop my house insurance and cut off cable.
I had to close down my house to a few rooms and I only eat once a day.
My husband is so ill I have to keep the 400 dollar a month health insurance, which keeps going up because of other people dropping theirs, and he only eats once a day, sometimes not at all because hes sick all day from his son being in Iraq.
I cant find a job .
We are verbally attacked daily for our anti Bush stance, or run off the road by people in our town.
Anyone got any other stories from hell?

my US citizenship application will now take an additional 3 years for them to process
graduating with an MBA in 2 months...not a job in sight,
no health insurance for my family,

Graduated from college in 2001. All I heard about when I was in college (the Clinton years) was the 'good times.' Had a steady (albeit temp-to-perm) job for a year after that, a job that was supposed my ticket to long-term employment. Got laid off because the small company that employed me was going under. Had to move to Japan to find a job that enabled me to make a living.

We moved to Southern Cal for jobs since we were both unemployed in Pgh. Husband is on his 3rd job since moving here due to lay offs. I am still unemployed after three years. Despite having advanced degrees, it has been hard to keep or get a job since Bush took office.(I fall into that too discouraged to look for work category - unfortunately).

Decline in stock market has impacted our retirement savings big time compared to Dec. 2000 amounts.

Our parents are in their 70's and on fixed incomes. Bush policies are not making it easy for the seniors (especially health care issues).

Bush environmental policies are giving me an ulcer.

lost every penny of our retirement money overnight in the market.
IRA, everything - gone. We are not spring chickens and now
figure that we will have to work until we drop.

it has not been as devastating for me in that I still work although I am in constant fear of losing my job. My 401K got trashed; it STILL isn't back where it was when Clinton left (OK, having lost confidence, I'm not as agressive as I was). I don't get the raises I used to. When I'm on vacation there is a fear they will realize, well, they don't need me. I worry about the future.

Where it does hurt a LOT is hearing people like you, good people, tell their devastating stories. Watching my beloved America turn into a fascist state. Hearing about soldiers dying in a senseless war. Wondering what the children in Baghdad feel everytime they hear one of those explosions we read about in Yahoo. Sometimes when I watch the news or listen to the radio I am reminded of PRAVDA. Don't look behind the curtain; nothing to see here, move along.

I'm tired and borderline depressed. After all of this, it's 50-50 in the presidential race? I have to believe this is just another lie; it's too painful to have to realize that there are that many utterly stupid people in this country.

On the bright side Mari - I went to mail that package yesterday and the line was really long. But I was only there a couple minutes when the counter guy said THE CREDIT/DEBIT MACHINE IS BROKEN; WE CAN ONLY TAKE CASH AND CHECKS. And with that 3/4 of the line magically disappeared !!! It was SWEET and I was out of there in five minutes! :D

...Honestly, Bush has had no effect on my family financially. We downsized years ago(pre-BushII), and live a minimalist lifestyle. I have some stocks in diversified funds, but they've recovered entirely.

I oppose Bush because I'm a pacifist and heart carrying Green.
Your mother should look to the pharmaceutical companies directly for monetary relief. They all have a little known program whereby you can get drastically discounted perscriptions based on financial need. It is their version of legal pro bono work...there is quite a bit of paperwork involved, she should ask her doctor.
