3. Mentioned in the Time Article
the cover story on Dean. didn't say a whole lot, just that they planned to pay a visit, for reasons other than watching the foliage turn.

4. From TIME:
"We'll be spending a lot of time in Vermont this August," says an official at the R.N.C.

6. They will go to Vermont to dig up DIRT.
There is no other reason for them to go. They will never get Vermonters to vote for a repuke.

10. Well, if he ever threw a piece of gum on the ground,
we might find out he's connected to toxic waste dumpers.

11. I don't think it will be successful at all.
Dean seems squeaky clean to me. And something would have come out by now. But, the RNC will try to Dukakisize him by showing problems with the state while he was governor. I don't hear the Vermonters complaining, do I don't think anything major will surface.

12. Maybe that could be a good thing
Vermont is, after all, one of the few states with a budget surplus, or at least without a financial crisis this year.

13. Yeah, unlike Bush, Dean has a good record as governor.
I still can't understand how Bush "won" with such a dismal record in Texas for health insurance and toxic waste.

14. That's exactly what they are doing...
mark my words.. They will find a record of Dean having performed an abortion while in med school, or at least some ditzt woman will all of a sudden come forward and alledge it.. Can you say Paula Jones , redux:(

9. May I suggest
.that the DNC start doing the work they should have done 2 1/2 years ago and start digging into Bush's closet?? I guy here in Maine just stumbled, so to speak, on the DUI thing that was right there in the open for anyone to see. How the hell with reports and admittance from him of drinking did not one of them locate this in a very logical place?? It's time to get into the AWOL for starters and then let's see just what an honorable Christian man he has been in other aspects of his life. It's all part of the 'cloth' that has to be woven regarding this guy in order to depose him. They did not do their homework and now they need to desperately. One way to knock the boy down a peg about his "war" is to show his yellow streak.

15. They will find the usual malcontents and a few fanatic haters
But by and large he was well liked and respected.

I mentioned before that he drove his neighbor's kid to school for a couple of years while he was govenor. He kept his practice hours two days a week for the first two terms I think. He is not asking for special privilege or getting such for his son's fiasco.

He and his wife are good people.
