Al Gore to give a major Iraq policy speech Thursday in NY
The news just broke. Not much info yet, but here is it:

Al Gore will give a major address on Iraq policy on Aug. 7 at the Kimmel Center for University Life, New York University. More details as we receive them.

We are trying to get CSPAN to cover it so everyone can see it. Im sure he will tell Bush how it is done!

Go Al!

5. It was just reported that
it will be at 11:00 EST. They also said the tickets sold out in 4 hours. WOW! Now all we need to do is get Al to run for President. He could be campaigning that way daily!

Sorry about that, but I just had to. You implied that Gore would be able to draw crowds where the others cannot, and I don't believe that's true. Neither did 3000 people in Austin, TX, 2200 in a another, more conservative Texan city that I cannot recall right now, etc....

That is just a fact. Gore's popularity is above Clinton's.

30. It is now.
But how big was Gore's grassroots organization? Did Gore attract hard-core supporters from all over the political spectrum? Was Gore liberal enough to prevent a more liberal third party challenger while at the same time attracting numerous independants and republicans this early in the campaign? (Nader has said he won't run if Dean or Kucinich are nominated. Also, Dean has lots of support from independant voters according to NH polls.

36. It *is* good, but, hell, Gore was running against Bush........
a sizeable portion of the populace was on to Bush a long time ago..... OF COURSE Gore got so many votes. Who wouldn't? Lieberman, I am afraid, would command an equal number of votes.

That is not to say that Gore isnt' absolutely fabulous.....

Jump in the race, jump out, jump in, out, etc.

Does Gore only "fight" for us only when the poll numbers are reasonable?

I'd rather stick with a person who does the right thing, even in the face of public opposition.

44. Lieberman was supposed to win too.
A proven winner, name recognition, etc.

While Gore would start with 40% of the Democrats (Lieberman's numbers a few months ago) he would still have to rumble with Kerry, Dean, Gephardt, et cetera. Gore would be the favorite, but he is running against talented well organized campaigns this time around.

It's NOT for being a fan of Al Gore, it's for your insulting posts like that one, CJ aka dems4america. Skinner is giving you one hell of a second (more like 12th or is it 20th?) chance with this screen name, and I hope it's your last.

I have noticed each time I post you and this person post untrue and stupid shit. Just like me linking to Bush/Cheney and then saying I profit off of it.

I have had enough. That was not an insult, I am just tired of you two lonley soles stalking and harrassing me everytime I post. I think Skinner would have kicked me off along time ago with this account if he thought he thought I was doing anything. You are relentless to get me gone and you did when I first came here. You and others lied on me and got me banned. They finally saw that I was not a troll or a freeper like you claimed.

52. what is the point Wonk?
Why do you seem to open every Gore thread to pick a fight? Your big problem with this particular poster seems to be that he supports Gore, who is after all, just another Democrat. Gore won't be running a third party campaign to throw the votes to bush. If something should change and Gore gets into the race and wins it will be because people prefer him.

I am not a Dean fan or a Kerry fan. I do like Dennis Kucinich, but the infighting on this board over candidates is such a waste of time. Why not just ignore the Gore threads?

"Get a life Deanie"?

I simply asked a question after visiting your site. (It IS your site, right?)

I clicked on a banner ad and was linked to the site I posted.

You seem to have a serious problem with dialog of any kind. You hurl an insult and make ridiculous accustaions. In fact I think I've only replied to you a couple of times here. (Perhaps you are confusing me with another) As for "stalking and harassing" you, if you make that accusation, you better have the proof, pal. That is a pretty serious charge.

BTW, you did admit that your site did link to the Bush?Cheney gift site, right, so that wasn't "untrue and stupid shit"?

I merely asked if you derived any cut from the products sold there. It would seem a bit ironic, wouldn't it?

I merely asked a question, as you might if you followed that link from a site that purports to be an Al Gore site. In message #14, you stated that it linked from your site. So, in fact there was no "lie" on my part. You acknowleged it. OK, fine.

Now, please stop with the accusations, or post the threads in which I've "followed you" as proof.

Just what part of that don't you understand wonk?

This thread is about a speech by Al Gore, who by any stretch of the imagination is a liberal. That being the case, this thread has more reason to be posted on this forum than any 'what Freepers think' or Ann Coulter thread. Your constant harassment of other DUers is unwarranted.

40. To get my vote, Gore is going to have to come out AGAINST Lieberman
He really is.

I didnt' know boo about Lieberman before Gore attached him to the ticket.

And from what I have seen of Lieberman.......it is NOT a positive mark Gore chose him for VP. It is obvious that Gore was marching to the DLC orders when he chose Lieberman. And that's NOT GOOD!

Gore's only hope, really, is to come out hard on Lieberman and, goodness, apologize for almost getting us a VP scoundrel. Something, anything........

If he's mum on that.....I can't vote for him.....becuase it will tell me that he will do the DLC platform right on down the line.

Does anyone click to common theme:

Project for the NEW American Century
NEW Labour (UK)
NEW Democrats

It's all trilateral commission shit........

48. Seems to be a lot of Gore haters on this board...
...and the jerk that brought up the 'soreloserman' bullshit should be ashamed.

- This only goes to show how woefully ignorance some Americans are about politics and history.

- Gore didn't 'give up'...he was literally prevented from taking office by those who control our news media and courts. He did a great job considering the many obstacles thrown in his way by the Bushies.

- Gore gave a excellent speech last Sept on the same topics. He tore Bush* and his dangerous corporate friendly policies a new one...which is why Lieberman and the DLC pro-Bush* forces were upset at him. Gore is not the corporate stooge they wanted him to be.

- I don't expect Gore to attack Lieberman...that's not his style of politics. He is an 'old school' Dem more interested in debate than retaliation or oneupsmaship.
