Democrats should unite behind Davis, and not be self-serving opportunist
You can bet the Republicans wouldnt be allowing such anarchy and a feeding frenzy to be happening within the party.

Alot of people and some Democratic leaders have distracted themselves from the real issue and leaders like Loretta Sanchez seem to be letting their own self-serving desires override the VITAL issue here - PRECEDENT.

If we allow the Republicans to dictate once again by reacting like a bunch of scurrying flies when they shake up the bottle, we have played right into their hands.

This recall is not about Gray Davis - that is what they want you to believe though.

The ultimate issue facing us is to stay united and REMEMBER THE INJUSTICE OF THIS DAMNED RECALL IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Some of these Democrat leaders who are seriously eyeing the prospect of Gray Davis's seat seem to be showing an inherent weakness and/or at the least showing how much discipline they have when there is a potential prize at their grasp. They arent thinking about the overall good of California as far as I can see. Seems like with Democrats like these who the heck needs Republicans? We'll do it to ourselves.

This deal is about Republicans not being able to win fairly so they are are seizing the governorship.

In my opinion, it seems it would be wise to remind those Dems being seduced by a little power lust, that they are ignoring the highest interest of the party TO BACK OFF AND LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE, or face not getting any re-election funds from the party in the future.

Say what you will about Gray Davis, the issue is again, not Davis, it is how we choose to respond to this bogus waste of tax money and a further assault on California.

Right now it seems we are falling beautifully into the trap and the Republicans who started this whole deal are getting exactly what they wanted.

Dems have got to learn to unite behind each other, stick with each other and forget any short term gratification, especially when it is at the expense of the governorship of California.

I agree with you and shance. We cant give up fighting, you Californians elected Gray Davis as your governor and just because hardliners like Mr. Issa the car thief want to use this, the biggest electoral state in the union to their advantage, and so Mr. Darrell Issa can advance his political career. It's cheap.

4. you and NSMA are dead on
We can NOT give up hope. Remember what the immoral FDR said, "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself", theres a lot more fearful things than Darrell Issa.

We can not let this man, choose California's future, California and only California should have the destiny to decide California's future, and Darrell Issa aint California, hes one more GOP crook.
