What Kerry MUST do..
He must UNSEAL the Regan papers and Bush1 papers....and yes maybe even an early opening of the Clinton papers.. Bill has nothing to hide anyway..

He must seat a NEW 9-11 commission...a truly independent one.. The families should have input in the choices... and the panel should include at least a couple of historians (they know how to research)...It should also include at least one 9-11 family member (they could accept applications and then draw for acceptance)....

He must start the ball rolling for re-regulation of key industries that the public relies upon for health, safety or commerce...

(heating fuel, natural gas, gasoline production, pharmaceuticals, electrical grid, airlines, media, healthcare facilities, banking)..

These all touch EVERY SINGLE american..rich or poor, and there is no reason for these to be subject to the whims of the super-rich or the wall street craps shooters..

There should also be an attempt to REALLY clean up government.. This would require another investigative panel to look into the massive bribery from lobbyists and pacs..

Everyone says that "9-11 changed everything"..and if that is true, it's time for our country to take a step outside the box, and actually start addressing our problems, instead of "talking them to death, and pretendiing to fix things, while actually doing NOTHING"..

Kerry will have a window of opportunity after this piece of trash and his gang slink off into the sunset, but that window will not stay open for long.. History tells us that these vampires return...over and over and over... and they do much "backstage mischief", so the steps taken at the beginning must be bold, and decisive..

If Kerry just nibbles at the edges, we may miss an opportuity that will never return in our lifetimes..

1. I agree with you; very well put.
But I wonder what Kerry could accomplish with a split Senate (no matter what the results of the November elections, neither side will have a 2/3 majority), and a House where the majority (probably still Republican) may be less than amenable.

I fear he may wind up ruling by executive order, because you can be sure the conservative Reps and moderate Dems will attempt to stonewall any substantial attempt at progressive legislation.

2. Yes.. he may have to, BUT if he acts swiftly and is
ready to "swing that hammer" and hit both parties with it, he will have massive public support.. The public is PISSED..and SCARED..and READY to hear the truth..

We have been lied to for years, and look what it got us...9-11 and our soldiers fighting half the world.. Is that really what it means to be american??

If Bush is sent packing, there will be a groundswell of support from the whole world, and Kerry should capitalize on it.. You can bet that the rest of the world is holding their breath...they are sending us signals in their newspapers, magazines and tv...and at their ballot boxes.. They are saying to us.. "We can do it, and YOU must , as well"..

Conservatives turn everything to Shit...every time they control government (except for maybe Eisenhower)..It's time they were exposed and eliminated from government.. I really think that some of the moderate republicans would be with us on this one.. I doubt that they appreciate the way their party has been hijacked.. It's reminiscent of the Taliban's hijacking of Islam..

Our lives depend on leadership that takes things seriously, and starts treating the public as if WE matter..

3. Kerry is a senator, he knows how legislative body works
this is what helped lyndon johnson pass many of his bills. there is nothing wrong with being an "insider" when it's used to do good things.
