Have you heard? Suit about Sequoia voting machines
Wired.com reports on a suit by a voter in Riverside County, California, against the secretary of state alleging that constitutional rights are infringed without a paper trail. The argument is that because these machines are more vulnerable to fraud than other methods, voters are denied equal protection.

http://www.wired.com/news/business/0,1367,59898,00.html

The suit was originally filed in 2001 and was dismissed by the district court. Now, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has agreed to hear the case but has not yet set a date. The plaintiff, who filed the case herself, said the appeals court originally didn't want to give her a hearing but changed its mind in response to recent submissions from supporters of the suit. (The momentum grows!)

Here is another attack on these voting schemes from a different direction. Let's hope the court schedules an early hearing.
