Good Night, Wish That Non-WATCHERS Would Non-POST
No matter what the thread, there's always somebody posting, "I don't watch (Faux, LENO, LIMBOsevic, etc.). May I submit that SOMEBODY out of 30,000 WOULD like to talk to one another, and if you DON'T, then DON'T. Thanks. Nighty night.

1. ?
Please forgive me if I missunderstood you. So you are unhappy if people don't like Rush, Fox, or Leno on a Democratic board? Ummm...ok whatever. And sleep tight don't let your beddy bug's bite.

I was referring to threads. Threads being participated in by (x, or few or whatever #) of posters. The SUBJECTS being (LIMBO, Faux, whatever). Then somebody chimes in, "I don't WATCH (whomever). Why are you TORTURING yourself by watching O'WHORELY? Why don't you turn off the t.v., unsubscribe to cable, lock yourself into a park?"

There is a short story by Romain ROLLAND) about an ivory tower type when the Nazis were taking over. It was so ugly. He couldn't take it. So he locked himself into his (whatever, apartment, estate), completely CUT OFF from the UGLY outside, surrounded by his BEAUTIFUL art and music and literature.

If explanation is needed, I don't know how.

In the 1930s he wrote eloquently against all forms of international fascism, especially the National Socialism of Hitler, which he abhored. In fact, this became the key factor that changed him from a pacifist to one who believed that the only way to resist the evils of fascism and Nazism was through armed struggle by a coalition of the democratic states of western Europe and the Soviet Union.

No one who has read Jean Christophe can ever forget the memorable scene toward the end of the book when the composer, Christophe, after having lost everything which was dear to him, including for a long time his musical inspiration, hears the voice of God of God within him as the sudden warm wind of spring rushes through his open window. He feels the power of life flooding his empty soul - life which he had shut out through his grief. In the most beautiful sentences of the book, God speaks to him:

"I am not all that is. I am Life fighting nothingness. I am the Fire which burns through the night - I am not the night. I am the Eternal Light; I am not an eternal destiny soaring above the fight. I am Free Will which struggles eternally. Struggle and burn with me!"

That one or two, out of tens of millions, dont watch TV. You should try it sometime, it might wake you up. Haven't heard the term "idiot box" in a long while. Some people here do their thinking outside the box. The media whores do need johns though.

3. I understand
Basically, when you post something about what you might have seen on a cable channel, then it is annoying when people respond by saying "I don't watch that". It is pointless and it does lead to the question why they responded.

4. I got it, too, and think it's a reasonable request. Those who don't

watch any TV can start their own threads about not watching TV. I'm not unsympathetic to their cause and have gone many years without watching it myself, though I'm currently in the "watcher" category (news, old movies, WorldLinkTV.)

7. Yea, it wasn't real clear in the post
so I can see how it might be confusing what he was talking about.

It's kind of like this analogy, Person A is in a group of three and says "Did you see the movie, Terminator 3, Damn that sucked!" Person B says "Yea, it was pretty bad" Person C "I don't go to movies" Person A to Person C "Hmm, ok thanks for the info" (thinking ??)

Now, in a social situation (face to face) then even this might make some sense, because perhaps these three are friends. But over the internet, where anonymity is the rule, it doesn't make sense.
