A "dirty pool" way to neutralize the Ahnold "threat"
Its hard for me to believe that there's a chance in hell of Schwarzenneger even coming close to winning. But some here seem to be taking this as a serious threat to Davis, and the Dems' hold on the office.

The whole recall is a dirty trick designed to steal control of the office. Its only right, in my book, in bush's amerika 2003, to fight fire with fire - dirty trick for dirty trick.

So, why not, covertly of course, find a semi-intelligent person in a Cali phone book whose name is similar to Schwarzenegger, and whose first name is Arnold, or something very close, and get him on the ballot. I'll bet a good majority of simple-minded bushbots would vote for the wrong one. HA HA HA!

Also, assuming that the ballot will list candidates in alphabetical order, we could even have his name varied from Ahnold's just slightly enough so that his name appears on the ballot before Ahnold's.

I know this isn't a joke, but if these anti-patriots are wanting to stage a coup of Cali - f*** 'em, they are the ones who created this unfair, unAmerican playfield, we need to beat them at thier own game.

Maybe it wouldn't make much of a difference, but maybe it would make enough difference.

Just a thought.

1. I read somewhere... maybe even here...
That the repubes have already added one or more "Gray Davis" to the ballot for that very reason

I haven't confirmed, though...

10. you said it.
You took the words right out of my mouth. Just bring up the nazi father and see what happens. Maybe then we can bring up Bush's trading with the nazi grandfather too. From your lips to gods ears sister :)

3. This recall is a **#%ing Joke
An even better ideal would be to put as many people with the same names as more prominent people onto the ballot, and even pay people to change their names to Darrel Issa, Arnold, Gray, Huffington etc.... and then make it a huge public issue that if you vote for the recall, then you vote for chaos. Because with 30 people on the ballot with the same or similar names to the front runners who will know what is going on.

7. Hell, let's put a George Bush on the ballot (or a Colleen Powell, lol)
Edited on Wed Aug-06-03 08:05 PM by nu_duer
Surely there are a few of those poor bastards, probably more than willing, given the hell they've surely endured since 2000.

Maybe a George Bush Jr.

12. We need to get as many gd people on the ballot as we can
Make the thing 2000 names long, so that with the whole randome placement thing people won't even be able to find a name they are looking for.

4. I want to know how Rove got rid of Arnold's hooker problem.
It was pretty extensive. Were they all "found" and "dealt" with?

6. who would vote for Arnold?
The guy hasn't even been president of SAG (a la Reagan). He's done absolutely nothing. I think even the dumbest of republicans will realize this.

Remember Jesse Ventura.

On Edit:

Also, Arnold won't need much to win. The number of contenders is growing huge, so the vote pool will be really diluted. He just has to be a medium-sized fish in a school of guppies.

13. ventura
agree with him or not, was sort of a vote against the established parties. The star of Hercules in New York is firmly entrenched in the party machinery, so he doesn't have that going for him. What he does have, is a kiss-ass entertainment press and a rightwing news media who will instantly give him credibility. Not to mention Jay Leno, the sycophant of anyone in power kissing his ass nightly.

I remeber Margaret the Chipmunk on CNN ridiculing Warren Beatty for considering a presidetial bid. How much do you want to bet that she fawns over Arnold in the coming weeks.

18. I liked Jesse
He was far less a bullshitter than your average pol.

Like Arnold, his resume was untainted by anything that would qualify him for the job. Unlike Arnold, he wasn't a mega-celeb and was considered supremely dumb. And he got in. I think Arnold will have an easier time of it.

Yeah, I expect the entire press corps to fawn over the lug. How many hours do you think it'll take before the first Terminator Stalks Davis headline hits the newswires?

20. Remember...
You had 3 candidates running in MN in 1998. Ventura won with 38% of the vote. The winner here could get only 15% of the vote!

19. Wow! Had no idea Arnold did all those things before he got famous!
But I really do believe none of that will matter. A lot of Californians like Ahnold...so I think they will vote for him. It will only make republicans the hypocrites that they are though. Someone pointed out how the repukes bashed hollywood, well there you go. Also, if he had hookers etc., there you go also.

This recall mess is really sad. And I'm not saying that because Davis is a Dem, I wouldn't think it's right if it was a rep in there and the Dems wanted to oust him or her. I say wait until the next election and vote them out! What is wrong with that?
